COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS

ur Team of Outreach social works and Volunteers invested hundreds of

working hours in the gone year in the community, Informing seniors, Business

Oprofessionals and other community partners about the Many services we offer,
as well as enlightening them, About the dangers of elder abuse and exploitation. The

volunteers are trained to provide all type of support in Physical, Emotional and Social

needs of the elderly community During the past time our team was successful in
creating community based organizations of elderly .The elderly self-help group formed

are function very good .about 10 elder clubs has been formed by this initiative in that
each group is having 50 to 120 members as participants. To enable the community in

exhibiting age friendly behavior some other activities are done and all that activity's

together known as Friendly Visitors .one of the major work done in that area is forming
a support group of 6 members from each ward they will act as a volunteers for Age-

Friendly Ernakulam .They will give a weekly visit to the seniors and they will facilitate
the needs of the elderly groups.

Presently 33 groups are formed in each group 6 members are present. Each

voluntreer in this group got basic training in assessment and case management 95

groups are in the process of registering and under going training on . About 500 College
students from the city voluntary registered in the Age-friendly project and are actively

involved in carrying out different programs and activities for the senior citizens
