ransportation is important for anyone in the world to enjoy

independence and autonomy. Easy and painless access to

Ttransportation adds to quality of life of any individual. The idea of age

friendly transportation can be realized when the transportation infrastructure

environment is designed to accommodate those with disabilities and those who

are advanced in age. This means that it has to be accessible from one's home,

seamless access and opportunity to reserve seats for long distance travels, safe

walkways and cycling paths, and most importantly, awareness of the drivers and
general public about the bio-psycho-social dimensions of ageing and the

transportation needs. Government systems and policies should be in such a

way that they will address the daily needs and serve the aged citizens towards

an active ageing. For the past one year SENIOR TAXI project is achieving the

objectives.
