UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE (U3A )

U 3A movement is a unique and exciting project which provides a

lifelong education and social engagement, through its U3As, a life-

enhancing and life-changing opportunities are given to the Retired

and semi-retired people under this project .when the senior city son come

together and learn together, they are not coming or organized specifically

for a for qualifications but this is mainly focusing on to improve their

social inclusion into the mental well being and engagement for its

own reward: it is the sheer joy of discovery. Members share their

skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the

teachers learn, and there is no distinction between U

them.

The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a highly

successful adult education movement under age

friendly Ernakulam in the state of KERALA providing

opportunities for older adults to enjoy a range of

activities associated with well-being in later life.

U3A CONCEPT

The University of Third Age is an

international concept aiming at

education and stimulation of

mainly retired members of the

community - those in their third

'age' of life. It is commonly

referred to as U3A.
