OBJECTIVES

Ÿ Promotes review and modification of existing
ordinances governing the industry with regard to the
transport of seniors and people with disabilities
Ÿ Encourages companies and owner / operators to

provide improved customer service to the senior
population (and by extension, all customers)
Ÿ Provides larger taxi companies with added value in
marketing their services
Ÿ Provides individual taxi drivers with a market

incentive to improve their credentials and customer
skills
Ÿ Promotes a general awareness of taxicab service as
a viable option for seniors in maintaining their

independence
Ÿ Reduces negative stigma that is sometimes

associated with the industry

PROJECT ACHIEVEMENT

TO THE OBJECTIVES

Ÿ To meet the given objective that is Promotes review

and modification of existing ordinances governing the
industry with regard to the transport of seniors and

people with disabilities
Ø Inaugurated the training program In district
Panchayat
Ø Identified the need of training taxi and auto drivers

in serving the aged population through research
Ø Created a training module for training the taxi
drivers in age friendly behavior formation which

can be utilized throughout the state.
Ÿ Encourages companies and owner / operators to
provide improved customer service to the senior

population (and by extension, all customers)
Ø Trained 29 age friendly senior taxi drivers and

allotted the ID card and certificates and enable
them to serve as senior taxi drivers and serve the
aged population
