HISTORY
o Create a timeline of their lives.
o Create a family tree.
Star fillers o Talk about who is in their family and think about how their childhood could have been
different.
o Write some questions to ask someone about their lives.
o Investigate how they could find out about the past - what resources? Who could they ask?
o Using books from the library find out people/events from the past.
GEOGRAPHY
o Ask students to draw and label a map of the classroom/school/playground.
o Students to design in groups their ideal playground, labelling what they would have in it
and why.
o Using a story as a basis, students to create what they imagine the story setting to be –
e.g. Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood.
o Observe and record what they can see and hear in the playground.
o Brainstorm the types of houses and buildings are in the area they live in (leisure centre,
library).
o Discuss places they know and create a map from their point of view of the world.
o Describe different places they have been to and how it was different to where they live.
Star fillers o Create a weather chart with activities they like to do in different weathers.
o Discuss what happens with different types of weather.
o Think about the best places to cross the road - create a poster of how to cross the road
safely.
ART
Star fillers o Draw an object from the classroom, looking closely at the texture.
o Draw a portrait of their partner.
o Create a collage of an object or portrait.
o Design and draw a monster/alien/fairy/character from a story.
o Redesign a cover for a book in the classroom.
o Investigate different patterns in the classroom.
o Create a pattern for a blanket for their bedroom.
PE
o Move Like An…. Get the class to move like different beans, animals, weather.
o Mirror Image – in pairs, one partner to do a move for their partner to copy.
