Text Level Work
                   o  Describe their favourite character from a fairy tale in pairs for their partner to guess.
                   o  Create a story board for a fairy tale.
                   o  In pairs verbally retell a fairy tale.
                   o  Look at a non-fiction book - find out 1-3 (depending on ability) interesting facts to share.
                   o  Get the class to explain to you what a non-fiction book is and its features.
       Links to    o  In a group draw round one member and then all label different body parts – extension –
      curriculum       what they do, e.g. eyes for seeing.
                   o  Create a story board for the school day and write captions underneath.
                   o  Using their reading books try and find words in the dictionary and write what page it's on.

               Summer Term
               Word Level Work
                   o  "Ing" "ed" detectives – in pairs students look around the classroom/in books to find words
                       with the endings then write a sentence using one of each.
                   o  Write as many words as they can think of with the phonemes ee, ai, ei, (long) oo, oa in.

               Sentence Level Work
                   o  Write three questions they would like to ask their teacher/head teacher.
                   o  Write questions for a character in a book.

               Text Level Work
                   o  Describe their ideal playground/Write about their ideal bedroom.
                   o  Write about a trip/outing they have been on recently.
     Star fillers   o  Create a guide about the school for students/staff who are new.
                   o  Look at a non-fiction book, discuss what the book could be about by looking at the
                       cover/blurb.




                       MATHS

                   o  Number bonds to ten – get students to write numbers one to ten down left hand side of
                       paper and get them to investigate what makes ten.
                   o  Students to use fingers to work out number bonds to ten.
                   o  Students write sums for someone else using knowledge of number bonds to ten.
                   o  Get students to write 1-20 on paper then cut them out and stick them onto another piece
                       of paper in the correct order.
                   o  Give students a whiteboard and pen and get them to write a number between 1-20 on it,
                       get them to order themselves into a line. Once in the correct order ask what numbers are
                       missing.
                   o  Students sit in a circle and count 0-30 as a class then start yourself and go round each
