Our 2021
Impact Partnerships
The
Colectivo
In 2021, Together Women Rise awarded $50,000 Impact Partnership Grants to two collectives: networks of
organizations working together to increase their impact on a shared goal. By funding this collective approach, we can
have a deeper impact and more sustainable outcomes for women and girls. Several of Together Women Rise’s past
grantees are partner organizations in these collectives.
AMPLIFY Girls (East Africa)
Africa has the youngest population in the world, with more than 50% under the age of 18. Girls from poor and rural
communities face economic oppression and patriarchal norms that keep them from accessing the education, health
care, and tools they need to be independent and productive adults. As a result, many girls are forced to leave school
early, they get pregnant or married at a young age, and inevitably the cycle of poverty continues.
AMPLIFY Girls is a collective of 25 partners in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda (including past Together
Women Rise grantees Komera, WISER International, and Nurturing Minds) that serve over 60,000 adolescent girls By shifting more decision-
and their communities. Our grant will help AMPLIFY Girls support its partner organizations and improve outcomes for making to local communities,

The Colectivo (Guatemala)
- Scott Osborne, Co-Chair
Guatemala has the worst gender equity gap in the Americas. While Maya women make up about 25% of the Transformation Partnerships
population, they represent just 1% of the nation’s congressional seats. This prevents indigenous women from Committee
accessing resources and power structures for real advancement in the country.
Our Impact Partnership Grant awarded to The Colectivo will help fund a new leadership pathway for
underrepresented women. The Colectivo is a network of organizations (including past Together Women Rise grantees
MAIA, WINGS, and Women’s Justice Initiative) bound by their shared focus on the empowerment and dignity of girls
and women in Guatemala. The Colectivo’s program will develop a new generation of women leaders who will become
the voices of systems-level change in their communities and professional spheres.
