appa Omega Connection & Social Action Committee on the Move
During the week on September 25, 2018, the Connection & Social Action committee participated in the “When We All Vote” campaign spear-
head by former First Lady Michelle Obama. Team Connection led by Soror Kim Topps and partnered with Missouri City Links Incorporated, Ep-
silon Lambda Undergraduate AKA Chapter, Houston ISD and the League Of Women Voters visited Prairie View A & M University Nursing School,
several HISD High Schools and Houston Area college campuses to registered new voters before the deadline of October 9, 2018 for the Texas
midterm election.
Alpha Kappa Omega Participated in the Launch of the AKA Mobile Mammogram Unit
On October 1, 2018, Alpha Kappa Omega Sorors along with other Houston area AKAs joined Supreme Basileus Dr. Glenda Glover on
the campus of Texas Southern University in unveiling of the AKA Mobile Mammogram Unit. The mobile unit will be used to bring
mammograms to women who cannot access this service in their area.
