Lastly, as we enter the new year and start staring at the IRS deadline for taxes in April, I’m again
reminded that it will be “silly season” for scammers and malware folks. Just be AWARE that not all
emails, phone calls or texts that LOOK genuine are actually valid. BE CAREFUL – CAVEAT
EMPTOR.
Meanwhile, if you have any questions, comments, or whatever, don’t hesitate to contact me. And, if
you are interested in helping out with website CONTENT now that it’s going to be much easier,
please don’t hesitate to let me know that. The fact of the matter is that it’s hard for one person to keep
everything up to date in a timely manner, and when there are a number of assistants working to help, it
makes everyone’s job that much easier.
Oh, you might note on the new reformatted website that contacting someone at your chapter is now
done with a rather generic email address (example: 37@nationalsojourners.org) which is an ALIAS
file that obscures my personal email address as secretary. Every chapter will have that alias set to
their secretary (or assistant secretary as the case may be) to provide some security for your personal
email addresses. Just remember, if you REPLY to a message that is aliased from the website to your
personal address, it will come FROM your personal address. If that’s a concern of yours, you may
contact me and I will go over some mitigating strategies with you.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Bill Hickey National Webmaster (webmaster@nationalsojourners.org)
