Some of the areas where Imam Hussain
stayed before reaching Karbala
Karbala Center for Researches and Studies has conducted a survey for the
areas or stations where Imam Hussain and his family stayed on the way to
Karbala in 679 AD.
About 29 miles west from the holy city of Karbala lies the heritage castle of
Bani Muqatel, one of the areas where Imam Hussain stayed.
The director of Karbala Center Mr. Abdul Ameer al-Quraishy said, “A group of
geologists, physicists and historians from Babylon University along with our
team embarked on a mission to mark the areas where Imam Hussain stayed
through using a GBR device.”
“The specialist team has collected all the
information about this heritage site and proved
that it is indeed one of the places where Imam
Hussain stayed,” al-Quraishy added.
Karbala Center for Researches and Studies,
affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, is
working on full study related to the main areas
where Imam Hussain stayed after crossing the
Iraqi border.
