CONFLUENCE HOT CHOCOLATE RUN
FOR the past 5 years, the Confluence Chapter has volunteered at
the Hot Chocolate Run. The proceeds are donated to the Ronald
McDonald House charities.
This run is always in December, usually falls on the coldest day of the
year, no matter what year and 2017 was no different.
Duty called at 530am in Forest Park. Ladies, Teens, Lords and friends
layered up hat's scarves, gloves coats, you name it, we had it on.
We begin our morning lining up the runners in the corrals. Holding
the sign and the rope waiting on the race to begin. It's almost a
security detail, holding the runners in their perspective corrals.
Once your corral starts the run, our next step in the Finishers Tent.
Chocolate Chocolate and more Chocolate. Each race participant
receives a mug that is filled with a cup of hot chocolate, chocolate
dipping sauce and a variety of dipping items pretzels, marshmallows
and rice Krispy streets to name a few. We are filling cups and
distributing to the runners, oh and again security and line expiditers...
Hard work, fun day, chocolate on your clothes...all in a day of service
for the Confluence Chapter!!!
