Eastern Citizens Media and Information Literacy and Digital
Literacy Status
Regarding the MIL and DL status classified by 1,885 Eastern citizens, the 3 key
competencies have an average score that including 76.2 points in “Access”, 68.6 points in
“Evaluate” and 67.5 points in “Create”. An average score of three elements are 70.6 points
or ranked into Intermediate class that can explained, Thais can appropriately use and
consume the information from media in daily life. And result of the Digital Literacy survey
that shown, citizens of Thailand have average score 66.6 points or rank into Intermediate
and can explained that Eastern citizens have technology usage skill in basic level. According
to the basic skill and knowledge, the possibility of illegal behavior because lack of
knowledge that include ethical knowledge, law knowledge and security knowledge. With
Thailand MIL and DL status, the public sector must collaborate with private sector and
citizens to improving digital competence for creating innovation and transforming to digital
citizenships.
