Frame, Suspension and Tire - Frame FR-5
Check IN
Caution
Features of damage to the frame are rust, bending, twisting, skewing, local deformation, cracks, DI
rupture and loose rivets and so on.
1. Check whether the rivets are loose or cut
EG
a. Visually observe the suspicious parts and all parts of the frame riveting parts for loose rivets or being cut off.
b. Use a hammer to knock on riveting parts around the frame for rivets loose phenomenon.
Caution TR
When overhauling the frame, all rivets on the frame must be inspected one by one. Check the rivets for
loose, which can be determined loose rivets around by misplacement or rust around the head of rivets. AX
Loose rivets on driving vehicle can also be checked by painting. Clean the rivets around first, and then
paint around the rivets. After the painting is dried, driving the vehicle as normal, then check the rivets
after parking. If the painting cracks, it means the rivets have been loose. FR
Warning
Loose rivets need to be repaired immediately, otherwise rivets holes will crack or causes other rivets loose. ST
2. Check the frame for cracks
a. Check whether there is any crack in the connection
BR
between the rail and the crossbeam.
Caution
Frame cracks should be checked with the frame BW
thoroughly cleaned and after blasting or chemical and
electrochemical de-rusting. When the cracks on the EL
longitudinal and transverse beam of frame extend to
the entire cross-section, it is called the fracture. The
more obvious parts of the fracture can be seen by the
naked eye, while the local crack of frame is not easy to
detect. Frame cracks mostly occurred in the frame rail.
b. Check the upper and lower wing surface for cracks at
the eye.
3. Check the frame for deformation
a. Visually inspect the frame for any significant bending.
