DI - 286 Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts
Failure phenomenon Phenomenon description
While turning the ignition switch to "ON" position, the
Two side reverse lamps always on reversing lamps at two sides keep on whether the gearshift
lever is placed at "Reverse" position or not.
1. Check the reverse lamp switch
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the connector F015 of reverse lamp switch.
c. Place the shift controlling rod at the “reverse gear” position.
d. Measure the conduction between No.1 and 2 terminals of
reverse lamp switch F015 with a multimeter at its resistance
position.
Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
F015(1)-F015(2) Conduction
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 2.
NO>replace the reverse lamp switch.
2. Check the power circuit of left and right reversing lamps for short circuit.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the connector H012 of left rear combination lamp and the connector H011 of right rear
combination lamp.
c. Ignition switch: ON, step down the clutch pedal and place the gearshift lever at "Reverse" position.
d. Measure the voltage between the rear left combination
lamp connector H012 terminal 5 and the ground as well as
that between the rear right combination lamp connector
H011 terminal 5 and the ground with the multimeter in
voltage gear.
Standard voltage:
Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
H011(5)- grounding Storage battery voltage
H012(5)- grounding Storage battery voltage
Check if the result is ok?
Yes> retest the above steps.
No > repair or replace the short circuit wire harness of power circuit of left and right reversing lamps.
