FAULT

P0116-Voltage of engine coolant temperature sensor circuit is too low
P0117-Voltage of engine coolant temperature sensor circuit is too low
P0118-Voltage of engine coolant temperature sensor circuit is too high 62

General

1. The coolant temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the engine
coolant, helping theECUdetermines the engine operating conditions to control the
fuel injection quantity.
2. Determine the coolant temperature through the negative temperature coefficient
thermistor installed in the coolant temperature sensor. There is the higher
the temperature, the smaller the resistance. This resistor is the part of the
voltage division circuit, which plus a voltage of5V . The voltage of measuring
resistor changes according to the temperature, and each voltage will have a
temperaturecorresponding to the temperatureon the internal characteristic curve of
theECU .
