62-612 DIAGNOSIS-ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM
THE MOTOR WILL TURN OFF WHEN STARTS
Fault phenomenon Diagnosis logic Possible reasons
• Shortage of start instant power
• Air intake system • Idling motor default
• Fuel supply system
The motor will turn off • Throttle body • Throttle body failure
• Injector default
when starts • Electronic accelerator pedal • Ignition system failure
• Injector • Poor load signal
• ECU
• ECU
Diagnosis steps
1. Check the motor data
(a). Ignition switch: LOCK。
(b). Connect the diagnosis tool with the fault diagnosis connector (16pins) on the lower
left of the dashboard.
(c). Ignition switch:ON, turn on the ignition switch, and start the diagnostic tool.
(d). Read the motor data shown on the diagnostic tool.
Check whether the data flow is normalor not.
Yes>To step 2.
No> Maintenance related faults.
2. Perform visual and external check
(a). Observe the rotation status and shaking degree of the motor.
(b). At the same time observe the swing amplitude of the motor tachometer pointer, it
lower the speed when turns off.
(c). Observe whether it is normal idle flameout or the load idling flameout.(turn on the air
conditioner, light, hang the gear and turn the steering wheel etc.)
(d). Whether the external parts of the motor are normal or not. Whether the vacuum
tube losses or damages or not; whether the wire connector looses or not.
Is the result normal?
Yes> To step 3.
No> Exclude the problem and confirm that the phenomenon no longer exists.
3. Check the throttle body and idling motor
(a). Check whether the throttle has oil and carbon deposition and is stuck or not, the air
intake channel around the throttle has oil and carbon deposition or not,and the idling
motor has carbon deposition or not.
(b). Use a diagnostic tool to perform the idling speed motor test.
