11-10 ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM
11 DESCRIPTION ON SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Item Component Qty Function
• ECM optimizes the control system and adapts
1 ECM 1 it to the engine condition based on the signals
from the sensors
• Check the fuel pressure in the common rail
2 Oil rail pressure sensor 1 pipe to ensure the stability of the oil pressure
control
3 Intake mass flow sensor 1 • Check the air intake of the engine
• Check intake manifold pressure, adjust injec-
Intake manifold pressure / tion control, measure intake temperature,
4 1
temperature sensor correct injection quantity and injection timing,
overheat protection
• Accurate calculation of crankshaft position for
5 Crankshaft position sensor 1 injection timing and fuel injection calculation,
speed calculation
• Check the rotation position of the engine
6 Camshaft position sensor 1 camshaft and the TDC of the 1 cylinder piston
compression stroke
• Control the oil intake of the high pressure oil
7 Fuel pump actuator 1 pump and keep the common rail pressure to
meet the instruction requirement
8 Injector solenoid valve 4 • Spray fuel according to signals from the ECM
• According to the exhaust situation, a part of
Electronically controlled EGR waste gas is recovered and then burned into
9 1
valve the engine, thereby improving the fuel econo-
my of the engine
• According to the driver's intention, adjust the
10 Turbocharger actuator 1 intake of the turbocharger to ensure the
power demand of the engine
11 Electronic throttle valve 1 • Check throttle opening
• Check the cooling water temperature to be
used for cold start, target idle speed calcula-
12 Coolant temperature sensor 1 tion, and also used to correct the injection
advance angle, maximum power protection,
etc.
