ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - ENGINE CONTROL MODULE(ECM)                        11-13

                 REPLACEMENT                                                                                         11

                 1 .    Switch off the ignition.
                 2 .    Open the engine hood.
                 3 .    Disconnect battery negative cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20 Starting and Charging
                        - battery, replacement")
                                                           4 .    Remove ECM.
                                                           (a)    Screw out the A/C pipe fixing bolts.
                                                           (b)    Disconnect the ECM connector.

                                                                NOTICE

                                                           •      Once removed, keep the connection of the
                                                                  connector away from dirt, water and other
                                                                  impurities.












                                                           (c)    Screw out 4 ECM fixing bolts.
























                                                           (d)    Take down the ECM.

                                                                NOTICE

                                                           •      Once removed, keep it away from water.
                                                                  Don't immerse it into water.
                                                           •      Pay attention to the protection of
                                                                  connector pin.
                                                           •      Remove the negative battery cable for
                                                                  more than 1 minute before removing ECM.
                                                           •      Handle it carefully and protect it from
                                                                  impact.
