7. Check the balance shaft chain
(a). Fit the balance shaft chain onto the gear
with both diameters a equal to each other.
Straighten the balance shaft chain in the

arrow direction, and measure the center-to-
center distance b between both gears.
Standard value:
b
a = 40.43 mm
b = 241.3 ~ 241.6 mm

8. Install the balance shaft chain
(a). Align the balance shaft idle gear unit with
the intake side balance shaft unit.
PROMPT:
According to the drive ratio, these marks will be
superposed every 7 turns.

(b). Install the balance shaft chain, and align
the blue chain link of the balance shaft
chain with the marks on the intake &
exhaust VVT chain wheels.
(c). Align the yellow chain link of the balance shaft
chain with the mark on the crankshaft chain
wheel 1.

(d). Install the balance shaft chain fixed rail 2
and the balance shaft chain fixed rail 2
fixing bolt (arrow direction), and tighten the
bolt with the torque of 20±3 N•m.
