11. Check the electronic throttle unit
(a). Check the throttle valve unit seal ring.
•Check the throttle valve unit seal ring for wear and breakage; if any, immediately
replace it.
(b). Check the electronic throttle unit.
•Check the electronic throttle unit for scratches, breakage or knock marks; if any,
immediately replace it

12. Clean the electronic throttle unit
(a). Remove the electronic throttle unit, and
have the valve plate point up under free
conditions (arrow direction). Prevent 12C
the flow of cleanser into the electronic
element along the valve plate shaft, which
may cause malfunction.
(b). Clean the unit as shown in left figure.

WARNING：
fuwx12C346 The cleanser is a kind of combustible and
corrosive liquid, and its contact with the skin shall
be avoided.

(c). Apply a suitable amount of cleanser onto the inner wall of the throttle valve, and
remove the deposit carbon using a piece of clean cloth.

(d). Use a hard thin rod to spread out the
throttle valve plate, and remove the deposit
carbon between the valve plate and the
throttle valve inner wall.

(e). Turn over the throttle by 180º, and repeat the above-mentioned cleaning procedure.
Repeat for several times, till the throttle is thoroughly cleaned.
(f). Push the valve plate by hand to check whether the valve plate can rotate freely. If
the valve plate is seized, clean the valve plate again according to the above-
mentioned cleaning procedure.
(g). After cleaning, use the blotting paper to remove the cleanser in the throttle valve.
