34-64 AXLE AND PROPELLER SHAFT - INTERMEDIATE BEARING

OVERHAUL

1 . PRECAUTION. (Refer to "Chapter 34. Axle & transmission shaft - transmission
shaft assembly, precaution")
2 . Remove the rear transmission shaft assembly. (Refer to "Chapter 34. Axle &
transmission shaft - transmission shaft assembly, overhaul")
3 . Disassemble the transmission shaft cardin joint. (Refer to "Chapter 34. Axle &
transmission shaft - cardin joint, overhaul")

4 . Remove the Intermediate Transmission
Shaft Fork Joint
(a) Unscrew the nut.

CAUTION

Do not reuse the removed nut.

(b) Remove the plain washer.

(c) Mark the intermediate transmission shaft
splined shaft and the fork joint.

CAUTION

Install them as marked. Ensure all the cardin fork
joints of the transmission shaft assembly face
the same direction.
