STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY

OVERHAUL

CAUTION

• Since the steering oil pump is a precise component dedicated to safety, don't
disassemble or overhaul it without authorization.
• If damaged, replace the steering gear assembly.

1 . Precaution. (Refer to "Chapter 52. Power steering - power steering system,
precaution")
2 . Remove the front wheels. (Refer to "Chapter 33.Wheel & tire - front wheel & tire,
replacement")
3 . Drain the steering oil. (Refer to "Chapter 52. Power steering - steering oil,
replacement")

4 . Remove the front axle base plate.
(a) Unscrew the retaining bolts of the front axle
base plate.

(b) Remove the front axle base plate.

5 . Restore the Steering Wheel
(a) Turn the steering wheel so that the front
wheels point straight forward.
