                 Description

1 . The coolant temperature sensor, a variable resistor sensor, used to measure
the temperature of the engine coolant. ECM provides the 5V power to the coolant
temperature signal circuit. ECM monitors voltage changes due to sensor
resistance changes to determine coolant temperature. ECM will use engine
coolant temperature value for engine protection system and emission control.
