NATIONAL TAPIR CONSERVATION CENTER (PKTK), KEN-

ABOI FOREST RESERVE, JELEBU, NEGERI SEMBILAN

Jabatan PERHILITAN dalam perancangan untuk menubuhkan Pusat Konservasi Tapir Kebangsaan di Taman
Negeri, Hutan Simpan Kenaboi, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan di atas sebahagian Lot 2281 Hutan Simpan Kenaboi
seluas lebih kurang 84.57 hektar. Seluas 1.0 hektar tanah berstatus pemberimilikan untuk pembinaan
bangunan pentadbiran dan kemudahan rekreasi dan baki 83.5 hektar (~190 ekar) adalah kawasan keliaran
tapir yang akan dipagar.

Peruntukan projek PKTK ini telah diluluskan oleh pihak Kementerian Tenaga dan Sumber Asli (KeTSA) sebanyak
RM 25,639,810 dan telah disalurkan kepada Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) selaku Jabatan Teknikal
untuk rancangan pembangunan. Aktiviti inventori hidupan liar di kawasan tapak Hutan Simpan Kenaboi
telah dilaksanakan oleh Jabatan PERHILITAN pada suku ke-4 tahun 2020.

PERHILITAN is planning to establish a National Tapir Conservation Center in the State Park of Kenaboi
Forest Reserve, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan on a part of Lot 2281 of the Kenaboi Forest Reserve which encom-
passes approximately 84.57 hectares of land. Out of the total area, 1.0 hectare of the land held the ownership
status for the construction of administrative buildings and recreational facilities, whereas the remaining
83.5 hectares (~ 190 acres) is allocated as the tapir roaming area which will be fenced.

The allocation of of RM 25,639,810.00 for this PKTK project has been approved by the Ministry of Energy and
Natural Resources (KeTSA) and the fund had been channelled to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage
(JPS) which was appointed as the Technical Department for development plans. Wildlife inventory activities
in the Kenaboi Forest Reserve site area were conducted by the Department in the 4th quarter of 2020.
