Bucs To Host Rams At Raymond James
Seahawks Defense Will Look To Feast On 49ers QB Blaine Gabbert In Week 3
BLAINE GABBERT
The Seattle Seahawks will look to bounce back from their Week 2 performance when they host the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at CenturyLink Field.
Chip Kelly's squad blew out the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 before falling to the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.
The Seahawks' offense, which has scored just 15 points in two games, will look to get on track. The defense, which has allowed just 19 points, will look to keep things going against Blaine Gabbert and com- pany.
Donte Moncrief Out 4-6 Weeks For Indianapolis Colts
DONTE MONCRIEF
The deck continues to stack against Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.
Wide receiver Donte Moncrief will miss the next four to six weeks with a frac- tured shoulder blade, coach Chuck Pagano revealed in Wednesday's press confer- ence. The injury will not re- quire surgery, Pagano added.
A do-everything wideout with strong run-after-catch ability and DeAndre Hop- kins-like physicality and ac- robatics near the sideline, Moncrief was a popular breakout candidate in a Colts offense transitioning away from two tight ends and to- ward three wide receivers.
Whereas T.Y. Hilton and Phillip Dorsett are under- sized speedsters, Moncrief provided Luck with a reliable, big-framed receiver capable of winning at the catch point.
With Moncrief out of the lineup, the Colts signed for- mer Cowboys draft pick Devin Street off the Patriots' practice squad. Street will likely vie with Quan Bray and undrafted rookie Chester Rogers for snaps behind Hilton and Dorsett.
Colin Kaepernick Shakes Off
Coming off a two-game road trip to open their regu- lar season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play at home Sunday.
Coming off their NFC South win over the Atlanta Falcons to open the season, the Buccaneers felt energized and ready to take on the rest of their schedule. However, after a humbling 40-7 loss at the hands of the Arizona Car- dinals last week, the team now understands they still have a lot of work to do.
Buccaneer quarterback Jameis Winston opened the season tossing four touchdowns against the Fal- cons, then the following week, found himself respon- sible for five turnovers in the lopsided loss against the Car- dinals.
Entering Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, the Bucs list defensive end Robert Ayers, line- backer Devante Bond, line- backer Lavonte David,
Running back Doug Mar- tin will be out at least three weeks with a hamstring in- jury.
outside linebacker Adarius Glanton, and defensive back Ryan Smith are listed as questionable.
Starting running back, Doug Martin, will be out at least three weeks with a ham- string injury, giving running back Jacquizz Rogers an opportunity to see more ac- tion.
Kickoff time for Sunday’s game will be at 4:05 p. m. on Fox Television.
While Colin Kaepernick says he’s seen positives emerge from a racial-equality movement sparked by his na- tional-anthem protests, he’s also received death threats as a result.
“I’ve had a few come my way, but not too concerned about it,” Kaepernick said Tuesday inside the 49ers locker room.
Asked if those threats have come only through his social- media channels, Kaepernick responded: “Couple different avenues.”
Kaepernick said he does not alert team security in the wake of such threats, because, “to me, if something like that were to happen, you’ve proved my point and it will be loud and clear for everyone why it happened, and that would move this movement forward at a greater speed than what it is even now.
“Granted, it’s not how I want it to happen, but that’s the realization of what could happen. I knew there were other things that came along with this when I first stood up and spoke about it. It’s not something I haven’t thought about.”
Colin Kaepernick (r) and Eric Reid (l) kneel during the national anthem prior to Sunday’s game.
Kaepernick condemned Friday night’s fatal shooting of an unarmed Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Okla- homa, by a police officer. “This is a perfect example of what this is about,” Kaeper- nick said. “It will be very telling about what happens to the officer that killed him.”
One aspect Kaepernick is taking upon himself is fol- lowing through on a $1 million pledge to support communi- ties, and he said Tuesday he plans to award $100,000 monthly over the next 10 months to programs he’s cur- rently reviewing, with those distributions posted on a web- site he’s currently building. The goal is to demonstrate full transparency throughout the process.

Patriots Turn To 3rd-String QB Brissett
Josh Norman Will Shadow Odell Beckham, Jr. On Sunday
Josh Norman (No. 24) tangled with Giants receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. last season as a member of the Panthers.
It's Jacoby Brissett's tryout now.
The Patriots third-string quarterback came on in relief against Miami on Sunday after Tom Brady's top sub- stitute was injured, inherit- ing a 21-point lead from Jimmy Garoppolo before piloting New England to a 31-24 victory.
A rookie who was drafted as insurance during Brady's four-game "Deflategate" sus- pension, Brissett could be making his first NFL start in four days when the Patriots meet Houston on Thursday night.
"When it's time to go, you just have to make sure you're ready," said Brissett, who completed 6 of 9 passes for 92 yards in his pro debut. "Whenever the opportunity comes, you've got to make sure you're ready for it."
The Patriots have had one of the most settled quarter- back situations in the NFL — if not league history — thanks to Brady, who led the team to six Super Bowls,

winning four, during his 15- year career. But the job opened temporarily when commissioner Roger Goodell suspended him fol- lowing an investigation into improperly inflated footballs in the 2015 AFC title game.
"Jacoby, he handled it like a professional," receiver Julian Edelman said.
"He's very poised," he said, adding with a laugh, "especially for a millennial."
Brissett, a third-round draft pick, could have two more games to convince Be- lichick to keep him around when Brady returns from his suspension in Week 5.
Washington Redskins cor- nerback Josh Norman will follow New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. during Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium, a Redskins source told reporters on Wednesday.
Norman will go "any- where Odell goes ... except for slot," the source said.
Washington's coaching staff wanted to make the deci- sion sooner, but it didn't want to upset Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland. Bree- land wasn't pleased with the team's decision to assign Nor- man to the No. 1 receiver the past two weeks, so the Red- skins backed off.
However, Washington's staff has decided to stick with its original game plan of Nor- man always shadowing the
opposing team's top wideout. "We're going to let him earn the $75 million," the source said, referring to the five-year, $75 million contract Norman signed during the
offseason.
Norman, who previously
played for Carolina, and Beckham have some history. In their matchup in Week 14 of last season, a frustrated Beckham was flagged three times for unnecessary rough- ness for tussles with Nor- man, ultimately earning a one-game suspension. Nor- man also was given an unnec- essary roughness penalty in the game. Beckham finished with six receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown.
The Redskins and Giants also face each other in Week 17 this season.
