Dolphins' Michael Thomas Says He's Gotten Death Threats For Kneeling
Chris Bosh Says In Documentary He Felt 'Written Off' After Blood Clot Diagnosis
Miami Dolphins safety Michael Thomas said Wednesday that he has re- ceived death threats for kneeling during the national anthem before two games this season.
Thomas is the second NFL player, along with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, to pub- licly acknowledge receiving death threats.
"I've definitely received something similar," Thomas said. "Like I said, [racial op- pression] is alive and well in this nation. A lot of people don't understand where we're coming from, but it's our re- ality. That's why we're doing

this to try to find solutions. "Regardless if it's serious or not, no one has come to my doorstep yet with a gun. So I know what I'm standing for is right. I believe that in my heart and I'm going to con- tinuetodowhatIgottodoto keep the conversation going."
Miami Heat doctors told Chris Bosh his career was probably over during the win- ter after the discovery of a second blood clot in his leg, and Bosh has been fighting the diagnosis for the past six months, Bosh revealed in the first installment of a docu- mentary debuting Wednes- day on Uninterrupted.com.
"Seeing the team doctors, they told me that my season is over, my career is probably over and this just happens, this is just how it is," Bosh said. "I felt right away that I was written off. It was [claps his hands together] put it to the side matter-of-factly. If a
Las Vegas Pegs Warriors' Wins At 66.5; Cavs, Spurs At 56.5
The Golden State War- riors are projected to win 10 more games during the regu- lar season than the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers, according to sea- son win totals posted Tues- day by the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas.
The Warriors' season win total is set at 66.5. The Cava- liers and San Antonio Spurs each opened at 56.5 at the Westgate.
The day after Kevin Du- rant signed with the War- riors, the SuperBook opened the over/under on Golden State's season win total at 68.5. It is the highest win total oddsmaker Jeff Sher- man has ever posted prior to the season and attracted early money on the under from sharp bettors.
"Basically, the sharps are liking the under [on Golden State] and the public is liking the over," Sherman said.

doctor tells me, 'Hey that's it and this is how that is,' and I don't buy that. I have the right to disagree with you.
"I know inside me I have a lot of talent and a lot of abil- ity. I have it. I know I have it. It wasn't a matter of if I play again; it was when. So we
took the bull by the horns." Bosh directed and pro- duced the film, titled "Re- built." It is being released in parts, and the first install- ment comes less than a week before the opening of training camp. Bosh revealed last week in a podcast that he had not yet been cleared by Heat doctors but believed he'd found a medication regimen that would allow him to re- turn to playing by using blood-thinning drugs that would be out of his system before playing or practicing. Bosh has consulted numer- ous physicians for opinions
on treatment.
Vikings RB Adrian Peterson To Have Surgery
Judge Rules Derrick
Minnesota Vikings run- ning back Adrian Peterson will have surgery Thursday morning to repair his torn meniscus, the team an- nounced Wednesday.
Peterson, who was in- jured Sunday, told reporters that he has a "bucket handle tear" of the meniscus, which typically has a minimum re- covery time of three to four months. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, however, con- ceded Wednesday that Pe- terson could be gone for the season.
"(I'm) doing it with faith and optimism," Peterson told reporters of the proce- dure.

A woman accusing NBA star Derrick Rose of rape cannot remain anonymous at her upcoming civil trial, a Los Angeles judge ruled.
Lawyers for the woman, who is identified in court doc- uments as Jane Doe, argued that her privacy should be protected because she is vul- nerable and she has already been harassed after her name was leaked.
U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald said Tuesday that the law was very clear on the issue and he wouldn't close his courtroom to protect her identity. He said any decision by the news media about whether to name her is a journalistic decision.
The woman sued Rose last year, claiming the former MVP and two of his friends raped her in August 2013 while she was incapacitated after a night of drinking. Rose

and the others deny her claims and contend they had consen- sual sex with her that night.
The 30-year-old college student told the AP that her family knew nothing about her involvement with Rose or the lawsuit seeking $21.5 mil- lion and she wanted to keep it that way and avoid the spot- light.
But Rose's lawyer wanted her name made public and cited interviews and a news teleconference she conducted as Jane Doe last week as a reason to use her real name.

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to an extension with small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team announced Monday.
The extension is for four years and is worth $100 mil- lion, sources told ESPN.com.
The deal for the rising young prospect is for slightly less than the maximum salary, which would've been $106 million over four years, and contains no options, sources said. It's a strong deal for the Bucks, who lock up the multitalented young star and leave their five-year des- ignated player slot open for possible use on Jabari Parker next year when he is eligible to sign an extension.
In contract talks that played out over the summer, Antetokounmpo expressed

a willingness to take slightly less than the max in an effort to help the Bucks retain their young core, sources said.
Antetokounmpo aver- aged 17.2 points, 7.8 re- bounds and 4.4 assists last season. The Bucks are plan- ning to use Antetokoun- mpo, dubbed the Greek Freak, at point guard at times this upcoming season.
