MRS. SAUNDRA MASHA-GILCHRIST
Mrs. Saundra Masha- Gilchrist of Tampa, FL, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion AME Church, 7401 S. Kissimmee Street, Tampa, FL 33616 with Rev. James T. Golden, Officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. MASK RECOMMENDED.
Mrs. Saundra was a resident of Tampa for 72 years. She at- tended Hillsborough County Public Schools and Junior Col- lege. Saundra was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church, where she participated in Choir #1, Lay Or- ganization, Women Missionary Society, and Stewardess. She was employed as a receptionist at Hampton Inn Hotel.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted daughters, Joye Brown, Wanda Gilchrist, Alicia Gilchrist, Renee “Misty” Thompson, Shemika Soloman (Brayn), Latasha Williams, and Kawanis Gordan (Raheem); sons, Reginald Gilchrist (Velencia), Ronald Gilchrist (Liz), Deacon Roland Gilchrist (Patricia), and Rodnick Boyd (Shadel); like a daughter, Karissa Rodgers; loving grand- daughter, Brailey Brown; host of grands, great grands, and great- great grands; brother, William F. Masha (Donna); sisters, Sylvia Masha Jefferson (Stan), and Mercedes Masha Jones (Ronald); brother-in-law, Jim- mie Lee Gilchrist (Linda); niece, Crystal Starks Williams (Ricky); nephews, Travis Pruor (Victo- ria), and Ronald “RJ” Jones; ex- tended family, The Brown, King, Welch, Burke, Williams and Glover families; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

MRS. BARBARA JEAN HARVEY
Mrs. Barbara Jean Harvey of Tampa, FL passed away Thurs- day, September 22, 2022. Grave- side Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Gardens of Memories Mausoleum, 4207 E. Lake Av- enue, Tampa, Florida 33610 with Minister Bruce Bryant of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Officiating. MASK RECOM- MENDED.
Mrs. Barbara Jean Harvey was the wife of the late City of Tampa Councilman Perry C. Har- vey, Jr. Mrs. Harvey was a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a resi- dent of Tampa, Florida for over 50 years. Mrs. Harvey matricu- lated at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, GA, Mor- ris Brown College, in Atlanta, GA, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree, and Florida State Univer- sity, in Tallahassee, FL, where she received her Master’s Degree. Mrs. Harvey spent over 35 years in the Hillsborough County School System, where she served as the principal of Booker T. Washington Jr. High, and she founded the International Studies Program. Mrs. Harvey also worked in several other educa- tional and administrative capaci- ties within the Hillsborough County system. Mrs. Harvey was a charter member of the Greater Tampa Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., The Links, Inc. Tampa Chapter, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Perry C. Harvey, Jr.; father, Frank Willingham; mother, Jennings Willingham; and sister, Florence Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Raymond C. Coleman (Cassandra), and Perry C. Harvey, III; granddaughter, Erin Kennedy Coleman; stepson, Dr. Kermit Harvey; stepdaughter, Sonya Harvey; nephew, Charlton Bivins (Ramona); and other fam- ily members and special friends.

MR. JOSEPHUS McNEAR, JR.
A Celebration of Life honor- ing Mr. Josephus McNear, Jr., who passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Mr. Josephus McNear, Jr., was born July 11, 1956, in Fer- nandina Beach, Florida to Jose- phus McNear and Thelma Louise Logan McNear. He was educated in the public schools of Nassau County, graduating in 1974 from Fernandina Beach High School. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1978 and later moved to Tampa, Florida. He was em- ployed by Master Halco before retiring in June 2012.
He was preceded in heaven by: his parents, Josephus McN- ear and Thelma Louise Logan McNear.
He leaves to cherish his pre- cious memories: his loving and devoted wife, Almeta McNear; brothers, Mr. John L. McNear of Daytona Beach, FL., and Mr. Larry L. MRS. NETTIE HILL-JACKSON
Mrs. Nettie Hill-Jackson passed away on Tuesday, Septem- ber 27, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at First Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 6012 Edina Street, Wimauma, FL 33598, with Minister Tony Her- ring, Sr., of Quitman, Georgia, Of- ficiating. Interment to follow in Wimauma Community Cemetery. MASK RECOMMENEDED.
Mrs. Nettie was born Novem- ber 23, 1953, in Pavo, Georgia to her loving parents, Kelly and Julia Mae Hill, who preceded her in death. Nettie later followed her parents to Wimauma, Florida, where she became a cook for Bahia Beach in Ruskin, FL, doing what she loved until she moved to Palm River, Florida in the early 70’s and became employed with Ray Bro Electric in 1978-1987. After that time, she was offered a job at In- ternational Minerals and Chemi- cals being the first African American woman the company had ever hired. No matter where Nettie worked, she had longevity because she worked so hard to provide a great life for her family.
After 20 plus years at IMC, Nettie decided to retire and take care of her family, but she also al- lowed her family to take care of her. Nettie loved spending time with her kids every Sunday, shar- ing life moments with her grand- kids, and loving on her great grands every chance she got.
Nettie was preceded in death by: her parents, Kelly and Julia Mae Hill; brothers, James, Her- man, and Eugene Hill; sister, Car- olyn Hill; granddaughters, Za’Nia Malone, and Jasmine Hydes; and great granddaughter, Shamira Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband, Leon Jackson; three daughters, Anita Berrien (Robert), Theresa Luckey (Ralph Williams), and Stephanie Malone (Ralph); two sons, Darrick Jackson (Shirley), and David Jack- son (Ebony); goddaughter, Lesley Caitlin Jackson; sister, Loretha Hall; five brothers, Leon Hill (Se- datrius) of New York, Charles Hill of Georgia, Tommy, Kelly, Daniel, and Robert Hill, all of Tampa; five sisters-in-law, Gloria, Hazel, Clydel, Darlene, and Gwendolyn Jackson, all of Tampa; 14 grand- children; and 18 great grandchil- dren.

MRS. PEARL ETHEL TAYLOR
Mrs. Pearl Ethel Taylor passed away Wednesday, Septem- ber 21, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606 with Pastor Donald Lott, Officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. MASK RECOM- MENDED.
Mrs. Pearl was born in Ha- vana, FL on July 10th, 1934, to the late Dan Hayes and Rose Lee Jones. She was the oldest of 4 children. At the age of 16, she married Turner Fain, Jr. and they were blessed with 4 children. Pearl and Turner migrated to Palm Bay where she cleaned homes to help provide for her family. Pearl eventually moved with her 3 kids to Tampa, FL, where her dad, sister and younger brother lived. Pearl decided that in order to provide a better life for her family, she went to nursing school and obtained her CNA li- cense. She worked for the Home Association for 26 years, caring for elderly patients. As a single mother on limited means, Pearl was able to buy a home in West Tampa, FL where her children knew they could always come, and her grandchildren spent many summers. All of them knew that Mama/Grandma’s house would always be “home” because she had made it so.
She was preceded in death by: her mom, Rose Lee; first born, Al- fred Turner Fain; first husband, Turner Fain, Jr.; dad, Dan Hayes; husband, Jerry Taylor; sister, Airdean Shepherd; and grandson, Tommy Lee Hill, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her three children, Gwen Duggins (Albert), Deborah Scott, and Ronald Fain; her grandchildren, Felicia Spearman (Baron), Crystal Crawford (Lance), and Latasha Duggins; brothers, Dan Hayes, Jr., and Earl Hayes; nieces, Rose Gardner, Judy Spicer (Alfonso), and Abi- gail Willis (Horace); and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving rela- tives. The family would like to give special thanks to Danae “Dee” Holland, Pearl’s primary caretaker for over a year and a half.
