AIKENS
MS. BETTIE NELL DANIELS
A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Bettie Nell Daniels of Tampa, formerly of New York City, New York, who passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 will be held Saturday, April 9 at 2 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Quantai Washington, officiat- ing. The interment will follow.
Bettie Nell Daniels was born on December 11, 1945 in Jack- son, MS. She was the youngest daughter of her loving parents, Mrs. Terlena James Daniels and the late Mr. Eddie Lee Daniels.
Bettie was educated in the public schools of Jackson, MS; completing her primary educa- tion at Brinkley High School in 1963. Immediately after gradu- ating, Bettie relocated to New York City and spent her early adulthood forging her way in the world.
Bettie married Alonzia Jones Giles in 1967 and gave birth to her one and only child, Charlotte Anita Stanford.
During her early years in New York City, Bettie used her entrepreneurial spirit in sev- eral different ventures and was very successful. She traveled extensively, fulfilling a lifelong dream of being an interconti- nental traveler.
Family illnesses would re- turn Bettie to her hometown of Jackson, MS in 1988. After the passing of her father, Bettie be- came a devoted caregiver to her mother. She would split her time between New York City, Jackson, MS, and Tampa, where she would spend exten- sive quality time with her only grandchild, Charde’ Quinnae Alexia Sylvester, who she lov- ingly called “CQ.”
Bettie was preceded in death by: her father, Eddie Lee Daniels; brother, Johnnie Daniels; sisters, Helen Daniels and Dorothy Brown; and nieces, Yolanda Thompson Ball and Charlotte Thompson.
She leaves the following to cherish the memories of her lov- ing and outgoing spirit: her hus- band, Alonzia; daughter, Charlotte Anita; mother, Terlena Daniels of Jackson, MS; sister, Irma Williams of San Francisco, CA; brothers, Spencer (Sandy) Daniels of Oakland, CA, and H. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Fri- day, April 8 from 5-8 p. m. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.

‘HOLLYWOOD’
A homegoing celebration for Mr. Paul Eric Haywood “Hollywood” of Tampa, who passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, will be held Saturday, April 9 at 11 a. m. at First Bap- tist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Rev. S. Evan Burrows, pastor, officiat- ing. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Paul was a native of Tampa, and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County.
Paul Haywood was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of College Hill Church, where he sang in 3 different choirs.
Paul Haywood was pre- ceded in death by: his father, David Haywood, Sr.; and his sister, Kay Haywood.

MRS. HELEN REDMON DAVIS
A homegoing celebration of life and love for Mrs. Helen Redmon Davis of Tampa, who the Lord called home on April 1, 2016, will be held on Satur- day,April9at2p.m.atPil- grims Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 4202 W. Nassau Street, Rev. Dr. Linda C. Reese, pastor, with Rev. Dr. James Redmon, officiating. The inter- ment will be in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
Helen was born on July 31, 1932 in Tampa. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Redmon), and Gertrude (Henry) Suber. She attended Middleton Senior High School and graduated from Middleton Adult High School in 1966. Helen received her Associates of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College in 1975 and attended the University of South Florida.
She was a past member of Mt. Moriah P. B. Church. Helen retired from Aging Services of Hillsborough County in Plant City after 27 years of service as the center coordinator.
She was the Grand Worthy Counselor of the Grand Court of Calanthe, Florida Jurisdic- tion and Supreme Worthy Counselor of the Supreme Court Order of Calanthe of North America, South Amer- ica, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.
Helen loved to travel with her cousin the late, Thelma Branham. They traveled to London, Paris, Africa and many places in the U. S.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Re- naye G. Davis; sister, Theresa R. Johnson; brother, Frank Redmon; nephew, Donley A. Harris; and great nephew, Ja’Kobe D. Woods.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Cynthia M. Marsh (Carl), and Shelia H. Davis; sons, Thornton Davis, Gilbert G. Davis, Paul E. Davis, Ernie Carl Davis and Kenneth E. Davis, and their father, Buck T. Davis; grandchildren, Michael Matthews, Elliott Davis, R. MR. ROBERT BENJAMIN MORRISON, SR.
A homegoing celebration for Mr. Robert Benjamin Mor- rison, Sr. of Tampa, who passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 will be held on Tues- day, April 12 at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Rev. S. Evan Burrows, senior pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Ceme- tery, Bushnell, FL.
Robert Benjamin Morrison, Sr. was born on October 26, 1925 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Rev. Lenworth S. Morrison, Sr. and Elizabeth J. Morrison, the fifth of eight children.
Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Rev. Lenworth S. Mor- rison, Jr.; sisters, Franscena M. Jacobs, Gwendolyn M. Watkins and Judy M. Morgan; and brothers-in-law, Tommie Watkins, Samuel Jacobs, Abra- ham Johnson, Major Morgan, Johnnie Simmons and Stephen A. Martin, Sr.
His father was born in Man- deville, Jamaica and his mother in Daytona Beach, FL. When Robert was three years old, the family moved to Tampa from Massachusetts and several years later settled in Fernandina Beach, FL.
At the age of eighteen, Mr. Morrison was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1944 and served two years in World War II in Europe. At the end of his serv- ice he returned to Florida and eventually enrolled in college under the G. I. Bill. He at- tended Florida Memorial Col- lege in St. Augustine, FL then transferred to Xavier Univer- sity in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy in 1952. While at Xavier, he met Helen Martin and they be- came husband and wife on June 27, 1953.
Mr. Morrison’s career began as a Staff Pharmacist for the following drug stores:
Reyno Pharmacy in Jack- sonville, South Parramore Pharmacy in Orlando, and Wells Drug Store in Tampa.
In 1956, he opened Morri- son’s Pharmacy at 34th Street and Buffalo Ave. (now MLK Blvd.). He served the public for a collective 42 years at multiple locations - in Jackson Heights at the 34th Street location for 25 years and at the same time at companion pharmacies in West Tampa at the corner of Albany Avenue and Main Street for 3 years and Lake and 28th Street for five years. After widening of Buffalo Ave. forced the closing of the pri- mary 34th Street location, the pharmacy moved to 34th Street and Shadowlawn for five years and 34th Street and E. Louisiana for 12 years, at which time he retired.
Mr. Morrison was a former member of the Hillsborough County Pharmaceutical Associ- ation, Florida State Pharmaceu- tical Association and National Association of Retail Druggists.
In honor of his more than 50 years as a licensed Pharma- cist, Mr. Morrison was granted emeritus status by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
“Doc” as he was affection- ately known, was a long time member of New Bethel Pro- gressive Baptist Church, under deceased Pastor Rev. Leroy Stancil and later established his church home at First Bap- tist Church of College Hill, Dr. S. Evan Burrows, Pastor (and the late Rev. Abraham Brown).
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: a devoted wife of 62 years, Helen M. Morrison; four chil- dren, Bob Morrison, Jr., Teresa Morrison, Jerome Morrison, Sr. and Gianna Morrison; daugh- ters-in-law, Jacentha Buggs, M.D. and Terrell Morrison; eight grandchildren, Weldon George, Stephon Morrison, Jerome Mor- rison, Jr., Garry Hicks, II, Robert Morrison, III, and Edward Mor- rison; a very special grand- daughter, Gabrielle Morrison and Zion Jones; and a great – grandchild, Zamya Strawder; three sisters, Juliette Knox, Eleanor Simmons and Mattie Johnson; brother-in-law, Alvin Martin, Sr. (Ethel); sisters-in- law, Carole M. Walker (John), and Brigid Martin; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and associates.
The visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of College on Monday, April 11 from 5-8 p. m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Tuesday for the service.
