The Bad Stuff
• Sugar
• Carbohydrates (when in excess and not balanced with protein)
• Trans-fatty acids (seriously bad news!)
These are absorbed directly into your body and brain blocking your body’s ability to make its own EFAs and can alter neurotransmitters such as dopamine (the feel-good hormone), negatively impact your brain’s blood supply, increase bad cholesterol while decreasing good cholesterol, build plaque in blood vessels reducing oxygen to your brain, and cause excessive body fat.
Here are some notorious foods filled with these evil trans-fatty fats:
○ Cakes, pies and cookies (particularly if with frosting!)
○ Biscuits, including the frozen type. The word ‘flaky’ is a warning!
○ Breakfast Sandwiches
○ Margarine (If you knew what this stuff really was you’d be gagging at the thought!)
○ Mayonnaise
○ Vegetable Shortening
○ Crackers
○ Microwave Popcorn
○ Cream filled candies
○ Donuts
○ Fast Fried Food
○ Frozen pies
○ Potato chips
• Large, irregular, or poorly proportioned meals
