MARJORIE POWELL INTRO TALKING POINTS-Page 2 of 4
• We are also a part of a movement, where we believe that
no one’s possibilities should ever be limited by their age. We call this
Disrupt Aging. Every day, we fight to remove barriers that stand
between people and their Real Possibilities. Although the reality of
aging is radically different than a generation ago, many of us continue
to hold outdated beliefs about aging. Limiting beliefs. Discriminating
ones.
• And so we wanted to have a conversation with you all. A
chat among our Sisters that talk about aging, growing wiser and
glowing up!
• And we thought who better to have this chat with, then a
stage, screen and television actress, a philanthropist, whose own
career has been relevant for many decades, our own Soror Sheryl Lee
Ralph. This multi-faceted, triple threat original “Dreamgirl” earning
Best Actress nods for Tony and Drama Desk Awards. She made
Theatre history as the first African American to play Madame
Morrible on Broadway in “Wicked” and received rave remarks. She’s
been on a multitude of television shows, such as: “Instant Mom”, “Ray
Donovan”, and the Amazon series One Mississippi, not to mention
“Moesha” and “It’s a Living”. Soror Sheryl recently penned her first
book, "Redefining DIVA" to great reviews and was an Amazon Best
seller.
