Clem Parsons Memorial Award
This award was established in 2000 by Mrs. Carolyn Parsons in memory of her husband. It is presented to a student for excellent academic performance.
Andrew Martinez
Class of 2022
Andrew is a leader and has proven this around the world. As the President of the Global Health Club, Andrew was able to lead his fellow students to multiple countries, improving many lives. Locally Andrew is a teaching assistant in anatomy and is always willing to tutor his classmates. He engages
with the community through various outreach programs designed to help Pomona’s homeless population. He has been a leader in the scouting community and helped young scouts learn how to effectively use medical equipment. Andrew truly understands that the smallest gestures can have the largest impact in a person’s life.
Dr. & Mrs. Albert Victor Kalt Scholarship
Dr. and Mrs. Kalt were devoted supporters of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific from the day the school opened in 1977. This scholarship is presented in their memory, to students who want to pursue a career in primary care in underprivileged areas.
Sepand Moalej
Class of 2022
Sepand’s years of experience as a Physician Assistant and Medical Interpreter gave
him first-hand knowledge of the disparities in healthcare. He desires to provide compassionate care to his patients in a rural, underserved area. He truly believes that neither lack of education nor financial
support should stand in the way of a person receiving the quality healthcare they deserve.
Timothy Nguyen
Class of 2022
Timothy’s experience growing up in an underserved community led to his passion for serving communities in need. Timothy’s spirit to serve led him to volunteer at a juvenile detention center where he tutored incarcerated youth in math and English as a Second Language. As a practicing physician,
Timothy wants to provide a safe space for his patients where they can talk freely about their mental, social, and financial challenges.
