comedy sitcom entitled
“Father Knows Best.”
The
Y show was about a
father and mother who looked
after the needs of their family.
No matter what the situation or
circumstance, no matter what
problem arose their children knew
they could always turn to their
father for advice. They didn’t go
outside of their home for
guidance, for direction or for
truth. They knew that whatever
they needed was found within the
confines of their own home, with
their own family obeying the
voice of their father.
This also created a sense of
belonging. They knew, “I belong
here.” I am safe under the
guidance and influence of my
father. As children of God we
must come to the knowledge and
understanding that our heavenly
Father knows what’s best for us.
We are never alone. We belong
to Him – We are of God dear
children. If we have accepted
Him as Lord and Savior, then we
must allow Him to Lord over our
lives. He must sit as King on the
throne of our hearts. We must
seek the Holy Spirit for guidance
and direction in every area of our
lives because Father Knows Best.
He is Jehovah Hoseenu, the Lord
our maker! Psalm 95:6 says, “O

We must know His voice and
come, let us worship and bow
down: let us kneel before the
Lord our maker.” Psalm 100:3
(NIV), says, “Know that the Lord
is God. It is He who made us,
and we are His.” David declares
in Psalm 139: 13, “For You did
form my inward parts; You did
knit me together in my mother’s
womb.” Now that’s awesome!
We are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good
works not unto destruction or evil
but for good. We did not make
ourselves. We were formed and
created by the mighty hand of
God to bring glory to Him in the
earth. God has a purpose and
plan for our lives. An awesome
plan and an awesome future but
we must spend time with Him in
order to know the plan. We must
spend time in His presence and
time in His Word.
obey quickly when He speaks. I
have made many mistakes in my
life that could have been avoided
if I would have consulted my
Father first and sought His plan.
Thank God for second chances.
Remember, we are not our own.
We’ve been bought with a price,
purchased through the suffering
of Jesus Christ. Our Father loved
us so much that He gave us His
very best. He gave His best
because He knows best. He is the
potter, we are the clay. He is
Jehovah Hoseenu, The Lord our
maker. Never strive with your
Maker. When you hear His voice
don’t harden your heart. He
knows what’s best for us. In His
will we will find love, peace, joy
– the abundant life! Let us
submit ourselves totally to Him
and His leading. Let us seek
wisdom and guidance from our
Father first and not listen to the
voice of a stranger because He
truly knows best! For I know the
thoughts that I think toward you,
saith the Lord, thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give you an
expected end – Jeramiah 29:11.
