AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT

4.16 To undertake a worst-case assessment, 2019 background concentrations have been
assumed for all modelled scenarios. This assumes no improvement in background
concentrations in the future modelled years.

Surface Roughness

4.17 A surface roughness of 0.5 metre has been used in the model. This value is provided by
ADMS-Roads as a typical roughness length for open suburbia. This value has been used
across the modelled domain.

Meteorological Data

4.18 Hourly sequential meteorological data from the East Malling meteorological station has been
used. Wind speed and direction data from the East Malling meteorological station has been
plotted as a wind rose in Figure 4.
