 is commonly found among marital matchmakers and business    ,טוּשָׁפּ םַעַטַּהְו .ויָמָיְבּ ברֱַחֶנ וּלִּאְכּ ,ויָמָיְבּ שָׁדּקְִמַּה תיֵבּ
 arbitrators and on occasion among sellers.  There is also the Lav
 of “Do not covet,” (Shemot 20:14) which is an admonishment not    םיִמרְוֹגּ תוֹנוֲֹע ןָתוֹא ,וֹבירֲִחַהְל זָא וּמרְָגֶּשׁ ,תוֹנוֲֹע ןָתוֹאֶשׁ
 to send one’s friends to someone and pressure him to give you    תֶמֱאָה ןִמ יאַדַּוְבּ ,ןֵכּ םִאְו .וֹתוֹנְבִל ַחיִנַּהְל אלֶֹּשׁ ,הָתַּע םַגּ
 or sell you some merchandise.    Also, there are the Laveen or

 curses or false oaths, even if they are spoken in a language other    ,הֶזַּה אְטֵחַה ןֵקַּתְל וּנֵח ֹּכ לָכְבּ קֵזַּחְתִהְל וּנָא ןיִבָיֻּחְמ קדֶֶצַּהְו
 than Hebrew.  There is also the Lav of (Bamidbar 30:3) “Do not
 profane your words,” for example, one will say “I will learn a    וּנָא הֵנִּהְו .וֹמוֹקְמ לַע 'ה דוֹבְכּ רֹזֲחַיְו ,שָׁדּקְִמַּה הֶנָבִּיֶּשׁ ידְֵכּ
 chapter (of Torah)” or “I will perform some other mitzvot” (and    םוּגּרְַתְו ,"וּהֵוְנַאְו יִלֵא הֶז" :)'ב ו"ט תוֹמְשׁ( םוֹי לָכְבּ ןירְִמוֹא
 then he does not carry out what he said he would do).  Similarly,
 one should not contradict the words of one’s father or mother    ,יִלֶּשׁ םיקִלֱֹאָה וּהֶז( אָשׁדְקְַמ הֵּל יֵנְבֶאְו יִהָלֱא ןיֵדּ :סוּלקְְנוּא
 (or  one’s  rebbe)  since  the  Torah  states  (Vayikrah  19:3)  “man    דֵבְּעַשְׁמ לֵארְָשִׂיִּמ דָחֶא לָכְדּ ירֲֵה .)שָׁדּקְִמ תיֵבּ וֹל הֶנְבֶאְו
 shall be in fear of his mother and his father.”  Chazal have taught
 (Gemara Kedushin 31a) that the meaning of “in fear” is one may   .וֹמְשִׁל שָׁדּקְִמ תיֵבּ תוֹנְבִל קקֵוֹתְּשִׁמוּ וֹמְצַע תֶא
 not contradict their words.  Also, one has to be careful not to utter
 Hashem’s Name in vain even in a language other than Hebrew, as    לֵארְָשִׂיִּמ דָחֶא לָכּ הָיָה ,הֶזָל תוּשׁרְ וּנָל הָתְיָה וּלִּא יאַדַּוְבוּ
 this Lav is included in the pasuk (Devarim 6:13) ‘you shall fear
 Hashem your Gd.’   Because these circumstances are not found    ַעֵיַּסְל  וֹשְׁפַנְו  וֹפוּגְבּ  הֶזָבּ  קֹסֲעַלְו  תוֹעָמ  איִצוֹהְל  הֶצוֹר
 as commonly as the ten negative types of speech (described in    איִצוֹהְל ךְירִָצ ןיֵאֶשׁ ,וּנֵנָיְנִעְבּ ןֵכּ םִאְו .'ה םֵשְׁל תִיַבּ תוֹנְבִל
 this chapter) I have not counted them into this list of “types of
 negative speech.”  However, if they are encountered by man, one    ,הֶז ליִבְשִׁבּ םִיַלָשׁוּריִל וֹמְצַעְבּ עַסִּל ךְירִָצ ןיֵא םַגְו ,תוֹעָמ
 must be very careful not to transgress these Laveen).
               קוֹחרָ הֶיְהִי אָליֵמִּמוּ ,וֹמְגָפְל אלֶֹּשׁ וֹנוֹשְׁלוּ ויִפּ רֹמְשִׁל קרַ
