most certainly have earned an exceptionally great merit and will ךְוֹתִּמֶּשׁ .הֶז ידְֵי לַע ןיִואָל הָמַּכּ רֹבֲעַל לוּלָעְו ,תקֶלֲֹחַמ
help to build the Beit HaMikdash, as we wrote.
וּרְמָאֶשׁ וּהֶזְו .רוֹשׁיִמְל ויָנָפְל םיִשּׁקֲַעַמַּה לָכּ םיִשֲׂעַנ וֹסֲעַכּ
(Emphatically) How much great good is stored and set aside for לַעֶשׁ ,וֹבּ ןיִטְלוֹשׁ םֹּנִהיֵגּ יֵניִמ לָכּ - סֵעוֹכַּה לָכּ :).ב"כ םירִָדְנ(
those who fortify themselves in this regard and rush to correct
this sin. Even if their share in this merit was only one-in-a- ןוֹבָנ שׁיִאְל ןוֹכָנ ,ןֵכּ לַעְו .דָחֻ יְמ שֶׁנֹע שֵׁי 'הֶשֲׂעַת אלֹ' לָכּ
million, that too would be quite worth the effort. The holy Zohar ַחרְֵכֶה וֹל ןיֵאֶשׁ ןַמְז לָכּ דֹאְמ הֶזָבּ טֵעַמיִו ,םיִחוּכִּוִּמ רֵהָזִּהְל
comments on this specific idea (at the end of perashat Noach)
that if all of the participants (congregants) of one (congregation) הָדָפּקְַה ידֵיִל אוֹבָל דֹאְמ לוּלָע םיִחוּכִּו ידְֵי לַע יִכּ ,לוֹדָגּ
synagogue were scrupulous in their observance of peace as the הֶז םַגּ יִכּ ,הָלֵטְבּ הָחיִשִּׂמ םַגּ רֵהָזִּתּ הָפָיַּה שֶׁפֶנַּהְו .סַעַכָו
halacha dictates, they would have the ability to bring on our
righteous Mashiach. Therefore, my brothers and my friends, let דוֹעְו .הָלָטַּבְל וֹנַּמְז איִצוֹמוּ םָדָאָה יֵיַּחֵמ ברַ קֶלֵח הֶלַּכְמ
us strengthen ourselves very much and hurry to implement this ."עַשָׁפּ לַדְּחֶי אלֹ םירִָבְדּ ברְֹבּ" :)ט"י 'י יֵלְשִׁמ( ביִתְכּ
holy endeavor. In this context, the words of David HaMelech
A”H that were spoken to the tribe of Yehudah are very relevant
here; (Shemuel II 19:12) “Why should we be the last ones to רָבָדּ אלֹ םִא[ לוֹכָיֶּשּׁ הַמ לָכּ וֹרוּבּדְִבּ ץֵמּקְַל ,רָבָדּ לֶשׁ וֹרָקִּע
escort the King to his home.” Praiseworthy is the man who is ,)קרְָבִמ( הָמּרְַגֶלֶּטַּה תַמְגדְֻכּ ,]וֹפוּגְל וֹא וֹשְׁפַנְל ַעֵגוֹנ אוּהֶשׁ
resolute in this regard. This person will have earned merit for
himself, for all of his future descendents for all time and for all ל"ַזֲח וּרְמָאֶשׁ וֹמְכּ .ןוֹבְּשֶׁחְו ןיִדּ ןֵתִּל ךְירִָצ הָבֵתּ לָכּ לַע יִכּ
of Israel).
תַעְשִׁבּ םָדָאָל וֹל ןידִיִגַּמ הָלּקַ הָחיִשׂ וּלִּפֲאֶשׁ ,):'ה הָגיִגֲח(
Truthfully, it is appropriate and correct for each person who הרָָשֲׂעֵמ אוּה םִא ןֵנוֹבְּתִי ,רֵבּדְַל חרְָכֻמ אוּה םִאְו .ןיִדַּה
loves Hashem Yitbarach and His Torah to encourage all of his
acquaintances to be resolute in this endeavor, that many of the םרֶֶכְבּ הֶלֻּעְמ רֵמוֹשׁ תוֹיְהִל ךְירִָצ ,םירִָבְדַּה לַלְכּ .םירִָבְדּ
Torah’s parshyot address this issue of the power of one’s speech, .אָבַּבוּ הֶזָבּ וֹקְלֶח ירְֵשַׁאְו ,'ה
as I explained above in the second perek. Yet because of our very
many sins, these laws have become trivial to many people. The
very great reward for those people who are careful to practice there 'ל'מ'ש'ח'ה 'ר'מ'ג 'ך'א אוּה םירִָבְדּ הרָָשֲׂעָה לֶשׁ ןָמיִסַּה
laws should be placed before them (society). Our Geulah (the end ,הָוֲאַגּ ,'ר'מ'ג .סַעַכּ ,םירִָבְדּ תַאָנוֹא .'ך'א :וֹרוּאֵבוּ
of our very long and bitter exile and the return to our homeland) is
entirely dependent on this observance. Without doubt, there will ,רקֶֶשׁ ,הָפֻּנֲח ,הָנָבְּלַה ,'ל'מ'ש'ח'ה .תוּליִכרְ ,תקֶלֲֹחַמ
be many people who will listen to these words and society will .תוּנָציֵל ,ערָָה ןוֹשָׁל רֵפַּסְמ
merit because of them, as the reward for those who cause others
to do Teshuvah is very great. The Zohar Chadash describes this
in perashat “Lech Le’chah (which I quoted in the first book of
