emphasized in the obligation to discipline one’s speech, even םירִָאֹבְמ םֶהיֵניִדּ יֵטרְָפוּ .ל"ַנַּה ואָלַּה יֵנְפִּמ תוּליִכרְ .ב
though initially one must toil to perfect them, still, eventually,
one will accustom himself to them and will emerge as an upright .'םיִיַּח ץֵפָח' רֶפֵסְבּ בֵטיֵה
person crowned with all of these virtues, meaning, that one will
not seek others and then gossip about what they said or did. This ."קָחרְִתּ רקֶֶשׁ רַבְדִּמ" :)'ז ג"כ תוֹמְשׁ( ביִתְכִדּ וֹמְכּ ,רקֶֶשׁ .ג
(disciplined) person will neither become haughty nor express
anger and will be careful not to oppress (verbally abuse) his ,וֹרֵבֲח ןִמ וֹדָיְבּ שֵׁיֶּשׁ הֶמַּבּ שֵׁחַכְמֶּשׁ ,ןוֹמָמ ןַיְנִעְבּ טרְָפִבוּ
fellow Jew and put him down. Obviously, he will not embarrass ,"וֹתיִמֲעַבּ שׁיִא 'וֹגְו וּשֲׁחַכְת אלְֹו" :)א"י ט"י ארָקְִיַּו( לַע רֵבוֹע
his fellow Jew and will be careful not to flatter (manipulate)
others or lie to them. Nor will he use mockery or involve himself רקֶֶשׁ תוּדֵע דיִעֵמֶּשׁ יִמ ןֵכֶּשׁ לָכְו .םיִשׁדֹקְ תַשׁרָָפְבּ בוּתָכַּה
in controversy. This type of person is loved On High and is
treasured on Earth (i.e., he is a pleasure to the people around ךֲָערְֵב הֶנֲעַת אלְֹו" :)'א ג"כ תוֹמְשׁ( לַע רֵבוֹעֶשׁ ,ןיִדּ תיֵבְבּ
him). This person is a source of sanctification of Hashem’s ."רקֶָשׁ דֵע
Name. Regarding this person it is possible to say (Yeshayah
49:3) “Israel, through whom I am glorified.” For (achieving)
each of these plateaus, this person will receive reward from the רָבּדְִמַּבּ( ביִתְכִדּ וֹמְכּ ,]ויָנָפְבּ ויָתוֹלְוַע וֹל הֶפַּיְמֶּשׁ[ ,הָפֻּנֲח .ד
One Who Bestows Reward. Praiseworthy is his share here in this םיִנוֹשׁארִ הֵבּרְַה תַעדְַל אוּהֶשׁ ,"'וֹגְו וּפיִנֲחַת אלְֹו" :)ג"ל ה"ל
world and in Olam Haba.
.הָחיִתְפַּבּ 'םיִיַּח ץֵפָח'ֶבּ ןֵיַּע ,רוּמָגּ ואָל

לַא הָתַּעְו" :)ב"כ ח"כ הָיְעַשְׁי( ביִתְכִדּ וֹמְכּ ,תוּנָציֵל .ה

ָתּרְַבּדְִו" :)'ז 'ו םירִָבְדּ( ביִתְכִדּ הַמִּמ וֹדוֹסיִו ."'וֹגְו וּצָצוֹלְתִתּ
םירִָבדְִבּ אלְֹו ,םָבּ ָתּרְַבּדְִו :)ט"י אָמוֹי( ל"ַזֲח וּרְמָאְו ."םָבּ

לָלְכִּמ )אֵצוֹי אלֹ( אקְָפָנ אָל יאַדַּוְבּ תוּלֵלוֹהְו תוּנָציֵלְו ,םיִלֵטְבּ
לָכּ :):ה"כ הָלִּגְמ( וּרְמָאְו ל"ַזֲח וּלְלָכּ תוּנָציֵל ןָיְנִעְבוּ .הֶז

לָכּ( אָירְָשְׁדּ הרָָז הָדוֹבֲעַדּ אָתוּנָציֵלִּמ רַבּ ,ארָיִסֲא אָתוּנָציֵל
.)תרֶֶתֻּמֶּשׁ ,הרָָז הָדוֹבֲע לֶשׁ תוּנָציֵלִּמ ץוּח ,הרָוּסֲא תוּנָציֵל

הָאְמַּטְמוּ תֶלקְֶלקְַמ יאַדַּוְבּ רֵתְּסַלְפּ ירְֵפִסְבּ הָאירְִקַּה ןֵכֶּשׁ לָכְו
,םיִנוֹציִחַה םירִָפְסִבּ ארֵוֹקַּה לַלְכִבּ אוּהְו .וֹשְׁפַנ םַגְו וֹרוּבִּדּ

שׁירְֵבּ ןירִדְֶהְנַסְבּ אָתיִאדְִכּ ,רָבָדַּבּ דֹאְמ םיִמָכֲחַה וּריִמְחֶהֶשׁ
