 Attribute of Strict Justice, as Chazal write in the Midrash Mishle    ֹומ ְּכ ,ויָנ ָפ ְּב וי ָתֹול ְו ַע ל ֶו ָע  ׁשי ִא ְל ה ֶּפַי ְּמ ֶ ׁש ,ה ָּפֻנ ֲח י ֵר ְב ִּד ר ֵּב ַד ְּ ל ִמּו

 (11  perek) in commentary on the pasuk (Mishle 11:27) “One    ."ּופיִנ ֲח ַת אֹל ְו" :י ֵע ְס ַמ ת ַ ׁש ָר ָפ ְּב בי ִת ְכ ִּד
 who seeks out ‘bad’ for others, it will come back to him,” as
 follows:  If you see someone speaking badly against his fellow    ,ּוצ ָצֹול ְת ִּ ת ל ַא  ה ָּ ת ַע ְו" :בי ִת ְכ ִּד  ֹומ ְּכ  ,תּונ ָצי ֵל י ֵר ְב ִּד  ר ֵּב ַד ְּל ִמּו
 Jew (the sin is so bad that) even Heavenly ministering angels
 will speak badly about him before HaKadosh Baruch Hu, as the    ב ַ ׁשֹומ ְבּו" :בי ִת ְכ ִד ְּכ ,םיִנ ָצי ֵל ןי ֵּב ב ֵ ׁשי ֵּ ל ִמּו ."ם ֶכי ֵר ְסֹומ ּוקְז ֶחֶי ן ֶּפ
 pasuk relates (Tehilim 7:17) “His misdeeds will rebound back on    ."ב ָ ׁשָי אֹל םי ִצ ֵל
 his own head.”  And the opposite is also true.  If you see someone
 speaking well about his fellow Jew, Heavenly ministering angels     ׁשי ִא ּונֹות אֹל ְו" :בי ִת ְכ ִּד ֹומ ְּכ ,םי ִר ָב ְּד ת ַאָנֹוא ֵמ רי ִהָז תֹוי ְה ִל ְו
 will speak well of him before HaKadosh Baruch Hu.  (Please see
 that reference).   תֹוי ְה ִל ְו .םי ִר ָב ְּד ת ַאָנֹוא ל ַע י ֵא ָק אּוה ֶ ׁש ,ל"ַז ֲח ּול ְּב ִק ְו ,"ֹותי ִמ ֲע ת ֶא
                ַח ֵכֹוה" :בי ִת ְכ ִּד ֹומ ְּכ ה ָח ָכֹו ּ ת ת ַע ְ ׁש ִּב ּולי ִפ ֲא ,םיִנ ָּפ תַנ ָּב ְל ַה ֵמ רי ִהָז
 [ 17 ]  The holy Zohar teaches the following in perashat Mehtzorah:

 “One who speaks Lashon Hara will not have his prayers carried    ר ֵּב ַד ְּ ל ִמ רי ִהָז תֹוי ְה ִל ְו ."א ְט ֵח וי ָל ָע א ָּ ׂש ִת אֹל ְו ך ֶתי ִמ ֲע ת ֶא  ַחי ִכֹו ּ ת
 On High before HaKadosh Baruch Hu because there is a spirit    ,"ךי ֶהֹל ֱא 'ה ת ֶא ח ַּכ ְ ׁש ִּ ת ן ֶּפ ך ְל ר ֵמ ָּׁש ִה" :בי ִת ְכ ִּד ֹומ ְּכ ,ה ָו ֲא ַּג י ֵר ְב ִּד

 of defilement that envelops each of those words.  But when he
 returns to do Teshuvah and he accepts upon himself Teshuvah….”     ם ָר ְו" :בי ִת ְכ ִּד  ֹומ ְכּו , ַחּור ָה י ֵּס ַג ְל ה ָר ָהְז ַא אּוה ֶ ׁש  ,ל"ַז ֲח  ּול ְּב ִק ְו
 (This concept is alluded to in the pasuk - Vayikrah 14:2) “On the    תי ֵּב ִמ םִי ַר ְצ ִמ ץ ֶר ֶא ֵמ ך ֲאי ִצֹו ּמ ַה ךי ֶקֹל ֱא 'ה ת ֶא  ָּ ת ְח ַכ ָ ׁש ְו ך ְב ָב ְל

 day of his purification (on the day he does Teshuvah) he will be
 brought to the Kohein….”   :בי ִת ְכ ִד ְּכ ,רּוס ָא ב ֵּ ל ַּב ּו ּ ל ִפ ֲא ,ה ָו ֲא ַג ְו .א ָר ָמ ְּג ַּב א ָתי ִא ְד ִכ ְו ."םי ִד ָב ֲע
 [  18  ]    The  Midrash  Aggadat  on  Beresheet  (20)  relates  the    ."ב ֵל  ּ ה ַב ְּג ל ָּכ 'ה ת ַב ֲעֹו ּ ת"
 following:  “In the future all will be healed, but The Snake will    ח ַרֹק ְּכ  הֶי ְהִי  אֹל ְו"  :ר ַמ ֱאֶּנ ֶ ׁש  ֹומ ְּכ  ,ת ֶקֹל ֲח ַמ  י ֵר ְב ִּד  ר ֵּב ַד ְּ ל ִמ  ן ֵכ ְו
 not be healed.”  Just as The Snake will have no cure, so too in
 the  future,  those  who  speak  Lashon  Hara  about  their  fellow    קיִז ֲח ַה ְל  א ּ ֹל ֶ ׁש  ה ָר ָהְז ַא  אּוה ֶ ׁש  ,א ָר ָמ ְּג ַּב  א ָתי ִא ְד ִכ ְו  ,"ֹות ָד ֲע ַכ ְו
 Jew will have no cure, as the pasuk states (Kohelet 10:11) “The    .ת ֶקֹל ֲח ַמ ְּב
 snake bites without being provoked;” so too there is no gain \
 no physical benefit to someone who habitually speaks Lashon    ,ֹותּומ ְצ ַע ְּב דֹא ְמ רּומ ָח ןֹו ָע ן ֵּכ ם ַּג אּוה ֶ ׁש ,ס ַע ַּכ י ֵר ְב ִּד ר ֵּב ַד ְּ ל ִמ ן ֵכ ְו
 Hara.”  On occasion, because the seriousness of this sin is so
 profound, the speaker will invoke on himself death by Ascara    ס ַע ַּכ ַה ְו ,ה ָרָז ה ָדֹוב ֲע ד ֵבֹוע ּו ּ ל ִא ְּכ - ס ֵעֹו ּכ ַה ל ָּכ :ל"ַז ֲח ּור ְמ ָא ֶ ׁש ֹומ ְּכ
 (death by an extreme form of choking – the most agonizing of   .םי ִרּוס ֲא םי ִרּו ּב ִּד ר ָא ְ ׁשּו ת ֶקֹל ֲח ַמ י ֵדי ִל אי ִב ֵמ
 all forms of death), as Chazal have said (Gemara Berachot 8a),

 that there are 903 different forms of death were created in the    ,י ִ ׁש ְפַנ ְל ֹוא י ִפּוּג יֵנְיְנ ִע ְל ךי ִר ָּ צ ַה ר ָב ָּד ם ִא י ִּכ ,ר ֵּב ַד ְל א ּ ֹל ֶ ׁש יִנ ֵּכַז ְו
 world and the most agonizing of them is Ascara.  The reason
 (the habitual speaker of Lashon Hara is punished with death by      .םִי ַמ ָ ׁש ם ֵ ׁש ְל י ַרּו ּב ִד ְו י ַׂש ֲע ַמ ל ָּכ ּוי ְהִּי ֶ ׁש ְו
 Ascara) is just as Ascara begins in the gut and progresses upwards
 throughout the body and concludes in one’s mouth, so too the sin
 of Lashon Hara, even though thoughts originate in the kidneys
