 passes on from this world all of his doings appear before him and    שָׁמַּמ תוֹיְהִל םָדָאָל בוּתָכַּה ךְירְִצִהֶשׁ וּניִצָמ אלֹ םוֹקָמ לָכִּמ
 say: “This is what you did on such-and-such day.”  He answers
 affirmatively and they tell him to sign his name affirming the    םיִלִּהְתּ( רַמָאֶשׁ ,רוּבִּדּ ןַיְנִעְל וּניִצָמֶּשׁ וֹמְכּ ,םֶהיֵלֲע רֵמוֹשׁ
 event, as the pasuk states (Eyov 37:7) “The hand of every man
 will sign, for He is righteous and just.”  He validates the judgment    רֵמֹשׁ" :)ג"כ א"כ יֵלְשִׁמ( רַמָאְו ,"ערֵָמ ךְָנוֹשְׁל רֹצְנ" :)ד"י ד"ל
 and says “you judged well,” and so too he says (Tehilim 51:6)    רַקִּע יוּלָתּ םָדָאָה יִפּ רוּבּדְִבֶּשׁ ,םַעַטַּהְו ."'וֹגְו וֹנוֹשְׁלוּ ויִפּ
 “You are justified in Your words and meritorious in judgment.”
               :)א"כ ח"י יֵלְשִׁמ( ביִתְכִדּ וֹמְכוּ .ךְֶפֶהְל םוֹלָשְׁו סַח ןֵכְו ,ויָיַּח
 It is brought down in our holy books that at the time the Heavenly
 Court is judging a person, they open up before him a Sefer Torah    הרָיִמְשַּׁה תַבוֹח הֶיְהִתּ לַא ,ןֵכּ לַעְו ."ןוֹשָׁל דַיְבּ םיִיַּחְו תֶוָמ"
 and tell him – “Read it with your mouth (i.e., out loud) and they   .אָבַּבוּ הֶזָבּ רָשֻּׁאְמ םָדָאָה הֶיְהִיְו ,ויָניֵעְבּ הָלּקַ
 ask him questions about every subject (in the Torah).  Witnesses
 come and testify about him, either for good or for bad.  Chazal
 have taught us (Gemara Sanhedrin 106b) that HaKadosh Baruch
 Hu said to the evil Doeg Edomite, “When you come to those parts    רֹמְשִׁל ַח ֹּכ וּנָל ןיֵא :רַמוֹל םָשְׁפַנְבּ ןיִעוֹטֶּשׁ םיִשָׁנֲא שֵׁיְו .י
 of the Torah that address the subject of Lashon Hara, how will    .םירִָבְדּ הֶזיֵאְבּ רֹמְשֶׁא םִא יִל יַדּ ,םיִטרְָפַּה לָכְבּ רוּבִּדַּה תֶא
 you explain them?”  I thought carefully about which parshyot
 address this subject and I discovered that the Torah is filled with   :הּרָָקִּעֵמ תוּעָט יִהוֹז לָבֲא
 them,  as  I  explained  in  the  second  volume  of  Sefer  Shemirat

 HaLashon  in the 3  chapter, in the Hagahah. (Please see the

 following Hagahah).
               םִע  אָיְנוּרְטִבּ  אָבּ  אוּה  ךְוּרָבּ  שׁוֹדָקַּה  ןיֵאֶשׁ  ,ַעוּדָיֶּשׁ  .א
               ,םירִָבְדַּה וּלֵּא לָכּ רֹמְשִׁל םָדָאָה ַחֹכְבּ ןיֵא םִאְו .ויָתוֹיּרְִבּ
 Hagahah
               תֶא ריִהְזַהְלוּ וֹתרָוֹתְבּ אוּה ךְוּרָבּ שׁוֹדָקַּה ןָבְתוֹכּ הָיָה אלֹ
 I  will  list  them  here  since  we  have  added  several  pesukim
 that are dependent upon the power of one’s speech.  First and    וֹפוֹסְבּ וּניִזֲאַה תַשׁרָָפְבּ ביִתְכִדּ וֹמְכּ .ןָלֻּכּ לַע לֵארְָשִׂי יֵנְבּ
 foremost was the Snake of Gan Eden who spoke Lashon Hara    יִכֹנָא רֶשֲׁא םירִָבְדַּה לָכְל םֶכְבַבְל וּמיִשׂ" :)ז"מ-ו"מ ב"ל םירִָבְדּ(
 against HaKadosh Baruch Hu and in so doing caused everything

 in  Creation  to  inevitably  die  (Sefer  Beresheet,  3   perek).    In    תוֹשֲׂעַל רֹמְשִׁל םֶכיֵנְבּ תֶא םֻ וַּצְתּ רֶשֲׁא ,םוֹיַּה םֶכָבּ דיִעֵמ
 perashat VaYetzeh (Yaakov Aveinu said) (Beresheet 28:20) “If    אָלֶּא ."'וֹגְו םֶכיֵיַּח אוּה יִכּ ,תאֹּזַה הרָוֹתַּה ירְֵבִדּ לָכּ תֶא
 Elokim will be with me and protect me.”  Chazal have explained
 this  as  meaning  (Beresheet  Rabbah,  perashat  VaYetzeh  #70),    ירְֵבדְִבּ יִכּ ןֵנוֹבְּתִמוּ ,הֶזָל וֹבִּל םָשׂ םָדָאָה הָיָה םִא ,תֶמֱאֶבּ
 “Protect me” from Lashon Hara.  In perashat VaYeshev, regarding
 the  incident  involving  Yosef,  as  the  pasuk  states  (Beresheet    וּהֶזְו .לָלְכּ וֹל הֶשׁקָ רָבָדַּה הָיָה אלֹ ,ויָיַּח לָכּ םיִיוּלְתּ 'ה
 37:2) “and Yosef brought their evil words back to their father.”     אָבַּהֶשׁ ,ַעוּדָיַּה יִפְל םַגְו ."'וֹגְו םֶכְבַבְל וּמיִשׂ" :בוּתָכֶּשׁ
 This was the initial reason for our exile into Egypt.  In perashat
 Shemot (2:14) Moshe Rabbeinu said “Now I know the reason   .וֹתוֹא ןיִעְיַּסְמ ,רֵהָטִּל
