                                      ABSTRACT
Musa’adah Khas Khaira (MKK) aid and Musa’adah Khaira
Siswa (MKS) aid projects are devised by Pusat Pungutan Zakat
(PPZ) as an effort to ease the burden of the lower-income group
as well as higher education institutions (IPTs) students in
Malaysia. Both projects are devised to help the lower-income
group cushion the high cost of living in Malaysia. Hence this
This paper aims to addresses the implementation of MKK and
MKS aid by conducting simple surveys to gain input on the level
of effectiveness and the self-sufficiency of the aid recipient.
Findings show that MKK and MKS have reached their initial
objective but also needs some improvement.

            INTRODUCTION
The world is currently experiencing an outbreak of a ravaging viral
disease called novel Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The
viral disease is airborne, and it spreads easily and rapidly through
human contact and interactions, which has resulted in a pandemic
that is currently ravaging the whole world. Consequently, it has
resulted in many people losing their jobs and means of livelihood.
The most impacted are individuals and families in the B40 income
group that could hardly save any money. Therefore, two Musa’adah
aid projects initiated by Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ) to assist the
affected individuals, families, and students with a one-off aid was
timely. All successful applicants received the funds within a week
