QA/QC - Planning and Landscape Architecture
Brian’s experience is focused on master planning and landscape architecture. He is responsible for direct- ing all aspects of planning for both small and large scale residential, commercial, institutional, and rec- reational developments, as well as roadway projects with FDOT. Brian coordinates to develop projects, meetings with consultants and government staff, reviews plans for submission, represents projects in public hearings, and develops project timelines.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Kravis Center Expansion, Palm Beach County, The Raymond F Kravis Center for the Perform- ing Arts, Inc., Supervisor, Project Manager. The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is located in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida and is one of the premier performing arts centers in the Southeast. Set on 10.6 acres of property at the highest point in the city, the Kravis Center includes four venues: the 195-seat Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. Concert Hall, the  exible 289-seat Rinker Playhouse - a black box theater, the 170-seat Helen K. Persson Hall and the outdoor Michael and Andrew Gosman Amphitheatre with a capacity for 1,400 guests. WGI provided planning, landscape architecture, environ- mental, civil engineering, and transportation planning services to expand the Dreyfoos Hall lobby, recon-  gure the Dreyfoos Hall drop off and valet for Cohen
have provided DRC review for multiple projects. Brian has acted as the Project Manager and point of contact for the City of Miramar and is responsible for the project team’s review and approval of the applicants’ submissions. Applications include site plans, rezoning, variances, traf c, landscape architecture, and plat review.
Country Lakes Park Master Plan, Broward County, City of Miramar, Landscape Archi- tect and Planner. Brian was responsible for the recreational master plan of Country Lakes Park. The plan consists of two parks in western Miramar that are adjacent to Everglades High and Glades Middle School. The recreational design focused around providing an open multi-purpose green space with parking for the adjacent baseball  elds on school grounds. The  rst park provides a soccer  eld, three basketball courts, playgrounds, pavilions and a one-mile biking/walking trail, while the second park is a combination of a dog park and a nature preserve with a 1.5-mile nature trail.
Barkland Dog Park, Broward County, City of Parkland, Landscape Architect and Planner. The City of Parkland initiated the design of Barkland, its  rst dog park, in the Fall of 2010. This project included the design and permitting of the two-acre dog park. Services included landscape drawings, irrigation drawings, and equipment speci cations for the site furnishings and accessories. Presentation graphics and elevation renderings for represen- tation before Parkland’s City Council were also provided. Barkland includes two separate fenced in areas, one area for large dogs and one for small dogs. There are two large walking trails that loop through the site to connect the park’s pavilions, benches, picnic tables, and drinking fountains. There is also plenty of room for man’s best friend to exercise on the play station equipment or run free in the open grass  elds. The park opened for play in January 2012 and was immediately successful. Barkland has become a great destination place for the local community to gather and spend time with their family pets.
Palm Beach County Library Annex, Palm Beach County, Landscape Architect and Planner. Brian participated in the development of a 30,000-square foot Library Annex facility located on Cherry Road in West Palm Beach. The project scope included a tree inventory for the existing facility, preparation of landscape architectural design plans and irrigation design for Palm Beach County. Working with the design team, a site plan was developed to work in concert with the PBSO facility adjacent to the site.
