Erik has signi cant experience related to professional utility coordination, subsurface utility locating, utility engineering design, and management services on major public infrastructure and site development proj- ects including interstate, state, and county roadways. Erik is responsible for supporting several Miscella- neous Subsurface Utility Engineering contracts for both Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise and FDOT District 4. Drawing on his design experience as a profession- al engineer, Erik understands both sides of the de- sign/utility issue and is an asset to any project.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Florida Atlantic University and Oceanographic Institute, Harbor Branch Campus, Fort Pierce, SUE Manager. This project involved the prepara- tion of a site utility map of the university campus and surrounding educational and governmental research facilities (approximately 125 acres). Services includ- ed the eld investigation, records research, utility locating, documentation, and mapping of the under- ground facilities using ground penetrating radar, elec- tromagnetic, and radio detection line locators. Also, the project required vacuum excavating services (non-destructive excavating) necessary to expose and con rm the underground utilities and facilities within the campus. The project involved coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard and Homeland Security for access to secured areas within the campus.
and City of Palm Beach Gardens. Services included utility records research, utility locating, and the identi cation of utility con icts ahead of construction.
Subsurface Utility Locating and Mapping Services, City of Delray Beach, SUE Man- ager. This project involved subsurface utility locating and mapping services for local street improvement projects, including new drainage, sidewalk and landscaping. Services included utility as-built records research and the accurate led location of all utilities within the munic- ipal right-of-way, including water, sewer, reuse, gas, telephone, electric and CATV facilities.
Subsurface Utility Locating and Mapping Services, Palm Beach County, SUE Manag- er. This project involved subsurface utility locating and mapping services for sites throughout Palm Beach County. Services were provided for traf c signalization design and construction project sites throughout Palm Beach County. Serviced provided for County utility infrastruc- ture improvements, including water, wastewater, and reuse infrastructure
Municipal Sewer Improvements, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, SUE Manager. This project included utility locations in the design phase, which was part of the utility coordination ef- fort necessary to identify and con rm utility crossings and avoid utility con icts and service disruption. The project included 6,000 feet of utility designation services and 49 test hole locations.
South Florida Water Management District, West Palm Beach Field Station and Field Operations Center, Palm Beach County, SUE Manager. This project involved utility desig- nations and utility mapping services requested on the 35-acre Field Operations Center. The project included utility records research and horizontal mapping of all on-site utility facilities and services, including private security and on-site communications facilities. Involved the use of electromagnetic and radio frequency scans as well as ground penetrating radar to identify and map underground facilities otherwise undetectable.
Ormond Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion, Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., Project Manager. WGI was responsible for the accurate mapping of the existing treatment plant facilities, the identi cation of critical facilities, and the con rmation of both the horizon- tal alignment and vertical elevation of those facilities. WGI prepared the facility map to con- rm existing and proposed facilities in the design phase would not result in eld construction con icts and added costs.
