Chris Stermer
Lead - Utility Coordination
Chris’ responsibilities include facilitation of resolu- tion of utility/design con icts between utility owners with facilities located within the roadway project lim- its and the roadway designers and engineers. Chris holds meetings at certain milestones with all parties involved: utility owners, designers, project owner to discuss the potential impacts to the existing utility facilities and constructability of the project. Coordi- nation and dissemination of the subsurface utility engineering information is vital in determination of con icts with the proposed design. Chris also has a thorough knowledge of the latest statutes and regula- tions, which is integral in accomplishing these tasks.

US 17 (SR 555) at Avenue D Northwest (CR 542) - Relocation of Pedestrian Features, Polk County. This Task Work Order addresses the safety improve- ments with the relocation of the existing pedestrian features at the intersection of US 17 (SR 555) at Av- enue D NW (CR 542) in Winter Haven, Polk County. Elements of work include the relocation of the exist- ing pedestrian signals, pedestrian signal poles, audi-
highway with a raised median. The scope of services included median modi cations to ex- tend left-turn lane queue lengths and install median traf c separators, pedestrian safety im- provements at the US 301/Haben Boulevard intersection, widening to accommodate a dual westbound left-turn lane at the US 301/Haben Boulevard intersection, structural analysis of existing mast arms to accommodate proposed signal con gurations, updated signing and marking for the modi ed median openings and proposed widening, and analysis to maintain existing drainage patterns (no permit modi cation required).
SR 70 at Greenbrook Boulevard New Signal Installation, Manatee County, FDOT Dis- trict 1, Utility Coordination Manager. WGI designed new signals for the intersection of SR 70 at Greenbrook Boulevard in Manatee County. Elements of work included geotechnical, SUE investigation, and utility coordination for new signal poles, sidewalk, curb ramps and pedestrian signalization for crosswalks, intersection lighting, and integration with existing ATMS.
US 27 at Four Corners Boulevard and Bella Citta Boulevard, Polk County, FDOT Dis- trict 1, Utility Coordination Manager. US 27 at Four Corners Boulevard/Bella Citta Bou- levard included the design of new signals for this intersection. Other safety enhancements included intersection lighting and modi cations to accommodate pedestrian signalization and crosswalks.
SR 78 at Coon Road and Slater Road Mast Arm Replacement, Lee County, FDOT Dis- trict 1, Utility Coordination Manager. This project included the replacement of a damaged mast arm at the intersection of SR 78 and Coon Road and Slater Road in Lee County. This project was completed as a Task Work Order under the FDOT District 1 Traf c Operations Push-Button Design-Build contract.
US 41 (SR 45) at CR 865 (Gladiolus Drive) Pedestrian Signal Installation, Lee County, FDOT District 1, Utility Coordination Manager. This project addressed the safety im- provements with the installation of a new pedestrian signal across the dual eastbound right turning lanes on US 41 at the intersection of US 41 (SR 45) at CR 865 (Gladiolus Drive) in Lee County. Elements of work included construction of the pedestrian signal, all necessary signal poles, detector assemblies and associated hardware, and pedestrian features as necessary to accommodate pedestrian traf c with minimum impact to the current vehicular traf c patterns.

ble devices, conduit, signal cable pull boxes, and associated features to behind the existing curb/sidewalk. The scope also calls for the replacement of concrete sidewalk and curb, update of broken detectable warnings, and all other features as necessary to accommodate pedestrian traf c. Retro t re ective backplates will be added to existing signal heads (con- tingent upon structural analysis of existing signals) and the existing cross walk markings will be replaced with high emphasis crosswalk markings with minimum impact to the current vehicular traf c patterns and other incidental items necessary to accomplish the work.
US 301 at Haben Boulevard Median Modi cations, Manatee County, FDOT District 1, Utility Coordination Manager. WGI performed all roadway, drainage, signing and marking, signalization, and structural design. Within the project limits, US 301 is a four-lane divided
