Revenue Cycle Department (RCD)

RCD performs functions to ensure that VNSNY gets
reimbursed for services delivered.

The tasks of RCD include:
 Ensuring that VNSNY has the proper insurance set up for
the patient
 Document liability (Copays/Deductibles)
 Obtaining authorizations
 Ensuring services are billable

 Billing for services
 Applying payments

Other tasks of RCD include:
 Working with payors to resolve payment denials

 Monitoring trends related to billing and working with
VNSNY departments to implement improvements

 Ensuring compliance with all billing regulations

 Assisting patients in obtaining/maintaining Medicaid
eligibility, while receiving VNSNY services
