Buddy Codes
Buddy codes can be added to any visit service code as a reminder for the clincian. Example of buddy
codes include:
• PT-HHCCN (or OT-HHCCN, or ST-HHCCN)- used to remind the clinician that a Home
Health Change in Care Notice needs to be issued to a Medicare patient when discontinuing a
discipline but other disciplines are still on the case, or decrease in frequency or duration from
the original order, or a discontinuation of services due to administrative reasons.
• PT-NOMNC (OT-NOMNC or ST-NOMNC)- used to remind the clinician that a Notice of
Medicare Non Coverage needs to be issued to inform a Medicare patient of the discharge
from agency. This notice is issued at least 48 hours prior to discharge.
• PT10N (or OT10N) – PT/ OT supervisory only visit – used for PT or OT coordinators
supervising PTA/ COTA.
Search for the buddy codes and add it to the visit. These buddy codes will be in RED and are non billable.
NOTE: Your manager can add/edit service code and buddy codes if necessary if there are any changes.
You will be asked to confirm your frequency and duration.
