                     Reaction Organization


                     In  a  reaction  essay,  the  writer  analyzes  and  evaluates  his/her  response  or
                     reaction based on his/her own view (not anyone else’s) to a prompt or prompts,
                     which  can  be  articles,  books,  photographs,  movies,  or  even  TV  shows.  In  this
                     unit,  however,  the  emphasis  is  put  on  reaction  given  specifically  to  academic

                     articles.

                     Introduction
                        The hook focuses the reader’s attention on the subject matter discussed in the

                         prompt.
                        Background  information  includes  the  author,  the  title  of  the  prompt,  the
