Reaction Organization
In a reaction essay, the writer analyzes and evaluates his/her response or
reaction based on his/her own view (not anyone else’s) to a prompt or prompts,
which can be articles, books, photographs, movies, or even TV shows. In this
unit, however, the emphasis is put on reaction given specifically to academic
articles.
Introduction
The hook focuses the reader’s attention on the subject matter discussed in the
prompt.
