It’s referred to as the body’s ‘bad
cholesterol’ because it’s the main
conduit for cholesterol.
LDL travels through the body
depositing cholesterol where it’s
needed.
However, when there’s excess, it
deposits it into the arteries which
can cause blockages and ultimately
heart attacks.
Conversely, high-density
lipoproteins (HDL) are referred to as
the body’s ‘good cholesterol’.
