be. Eventually Hercules decided that

death would be better than living,

and asked his friends to build a huge

pyre. Then he laid himself and

burned himself. The gods watched

this act, and Zeus asked Hera to

forgive Hercules, that he suffered

enough. Only then Hera ended her

anger. Zeus then sent Athena to

retrieve Hercules from the pyre and

when they came back to Olympus,

Hercules was given immortality and

a place to dwell among the gods.
