Tennessee- joined the Confederacy.

The North and the South both

had strong points. The North had

23 states that were part of the

Union. These states had a huge

population, better manufacturing,

and railroad construction. On the

other side, the South, also known as

the Confederates, had the strongest

military with highly educated and

efficient soldiers and commanders

throughout the whole nation.
