The Silk Road had a big impact in
the past. Many cultures were
learned, and many goods were
traded among countries.
If this did not exist, the world would
not be as it is today. People learned
about the goods that could help
their civilization prosper.
However, not all things were good
about the Silk Road. Plagues, such
as the bubonic plague, was spread
in 542 CE. This reduced the
Byzantine Empire, making them
weaker.
