you sleeping?"
Someone was
shaking Nick awake.
Nick startled awake,
still swimming in
his dream.
Nick’s father was
sitting in front of
him.
"Oh, Father… am I back to normal?
There’s no chicken, squirrel or angry
rats?“
"What are you talking about, Nick?
Did you have a strange dream?“
"A dream?"
Nick looks around him. The attic has
darkened because it is evening but
otherwise everything else looks the
same.
